This current wording doesn't work (and obviously V's doesn't either - "dies" is not an instruction you can make a creature do). dude1818's wording is how an editor would put it.

Maybe swap the order around? "Each creature with power greater than normal deals the difference to its controller, then dies."

I don't think it's terrible, but it's unintuitive. I just meant that you go from talking about "each creature" to "its controller," which doesn't make sense as written
