Interestingly, WotC went with a quite similar ingest + cards like Mind Raker theme where as you seemed to receive a lot of criticism for your implementation at the time.

To be fair, ingest/processors also received a lot of criticism.

I personally think ingest/processors were the correct path but like so many things about the block they appear in they were a victim of Wizards not realizing how to cope with the changing paradigms of that time and some really bad calls from a mechanical/template point of view that would work much more organically today.

That said the main idea behind chilling is that the trigger condition. I specifically wanted a design where milling would be relevant since it will erode the opponent's library even as they block.

So I'm able to take about three different positions on every discussion about BfZ. ;)
