off-color morph costs seem like a trap

Maybe. Would you like to elaborate? I intentionally cost the base body as a playable 3/1 for {1}{w}, because I consider this particular version a base creature with a late-game benefit if you are getting your colors in a three-color/five-color deck (i. e. in an environment that encourages three colors, but allows going all-in).

As an uncommon, I feel, it gets some leeway towards being a trap, but I'd really like some elaboration on what concrete issue you foresee, so I can reflect on it better.
