As a squad permanent enters the battlefield it creates multiple creatures tied together by a squad permanent - the card is used for the squad permanent, while the creatures are tokens.

The parameter of the squad is its starting size. The creature stats are defined in a separate card face - maybe using split-card-layout or adventurer-layout.

The squad permanent leaves the battlefield with the last permanent (usually creatures) of the squad (to the same zone). If a squad permanent leaves the battlefield, all permanents (usually creatures) in the squad go to the same zone - as tokens they then usually cease to exist.

Creatures may be added to or replenished to a squad. You may add creatures past the starting size of the squad, but replenishing a creature does only go up to the starting size.
