Spicy. Color pie wise, this will only fly if one considers Dash Hopes to be in-pie. To me, it seems that "counter target spell" isn't really a {b} effect however you wrap it. Blogatog mentions (albeit old) seem to indicate same as well. Admittedly, I have a soft spot for {b} counterspells along with small {g} fliers, so I think I would be oriented towards allowing it personally.

Counterspells in black are a bend. I explore certain bends and expanding counterspell variants to other colors is something I frequently explore.

I just wanted to make a few designs better suited to that task than Choice Denial. Dash Hopes is a model that IMO can be used well for hybrid-designs etc.
