There's some precedent for CC uncommon value bears in other colors that don't/didn't get bears at all (Goblin Wardriver, Gatekeeper of Malakir), so I think this is an acceptable powerful uncommon (I agree I'd keep an eye on it in constructed, though). If you insist on toning it down, the best way would be to make the sacrifice ability less powerful (add a mana cost or make it loot) rather than fiddling with the mana cost, at least as a first try.
If Theros' higher density of Enchantments cause Fade to Antiquity to go up to 3 mana, (cf. also Smelt being printed specifically after Scars of Mirrodin block), then this' set artifacts should definitely increase cost to 3 too. Or maybe . Especially since white is supposed to be only third in artifact destruction nowadays (something R&D has not been very good at achieving IMO).
I doubt this name is anywhere near final.
Oh well, I had a Fade into Antiquity in my hand...
EDIT: Though Scars of Mirrodins theme is more similar to this sets theme than Theros'
It's not a "no-no". It's the way common removal is meant to be: either cheap and conditional, or very expensive (in this case the former). There's plenty of precedent for that: Mugging, Smite, Viper's Kiss, from the same sets as Angelic Edict and Lash of the Whip. Power-wise this is fine at current standards.
Complication-wise I agree it might be a bit fiddly. I did love Mark of Eviction though, so a worse version at common doesn't seem automatically a bad thing.
Mmm, I think I agree this is currently a bit too efficient. A 2/2 flyer costs or (Wind Drake, Millennial Gargoyle). It's allowed to have some benefits on top of that (Kathari Screecher, Nimbus Naiad etc; or Skinwing). I fear a 2/2 flyer for is a bit pushed though.
Even for the Wind Drake / Millennial Gargoyle cases, I think "sac to draw a card" is probably more benefit than you'd get without increasing the cost though. (As implied by Alchemist's Apprentice vs Fugitive Wizard.) See also Kingfisher, which works better in some cases worse in others, and was costed at .
I think this could cost (or, if you wanted, ). If you want to keep it at its current cost though I'd agree it probably needs to drop to 1/2.
Heh. The difference between destroy and exile is pretty minimal; Disenchant minus the speed plus exile? Not sure I'd want that very often.
Sorcery speed is a drawback. I think this is fairly well costed, actually... which is helpful because it's a direct reprint of Revoke Existence :3
Wording can be shortened a bit, I think - but it's still quite complicated. And is also cheap removal; even if naff removal, at common, which is a bit of a no-no.
This is pretty complicated for a common
The flavour doesnt ...feel right. Dunno why, its seems a bit too straightforward, maybe. Less playful than I'd like it to, maybe
Its an uncommon, right? Though 2/2 is really a bit much, how about 2/1 or 1/2? Or even just a plain 1/1.
reminds me a lot of wild guess. its just better.
A bit powerful for a common, i believe. maybe ?
How about adding a little flavour to the card? Stuttering Blink sounds so generic. I'd suggest Massive Malfunction, but i dont know if Malfunction fits the blinking...
A prison for planeswalkers? Whaaaaaat O.O
Argivian Restoration since it can't target creatures. But yes.
maybe make it more expensive. at its a repeatable Resurrection, id suggest
EDIT: Oh wait, noncreature. Hm.
OR it could be 2 + 2/w + 2/w + 2/w and let it stay three. or smth. I like the idea of the card a lot, btw
I dont like the name. Colossus seems too... boring for its ability to boardwipe. Seems more like a Bomb of some kind. Colossal Walking Bomb, but thats long and dull.
Doomsday Device? Or is that too overused as a concept?
It feels a bit powerfull for me... two mana to take out a creature for two attack steps?
If this is a functional reprint of Steam Blast from Urza's Saga, then it would deal 2 damage to each creature and each player.
Hey guys. It seems like everyone has been busy lately, (including me). I've made some changes based on individual card suggestions. If we want to continue working on art or flavor things, we could revive the old creative thread, and continue any card discussion on this site.
Changed to naturalize
This is a good point.
Vigilance doesn't really make sense on a red card, but I can see what you mean about the P/T thing.
As for spellslingers, consolidating the artifact bonuses to uncommon or higher makes a lot of sense, though it would come at a huge cost for the set mechanically and flavorfully. It's something to think about.
Changed to scaling with artifacts in graveyards.
We got the art descriptions for them. They were some of the few that got them.
This seems like something that belongs on the old creative thread. I say we start with important legends and go from there down.
Hi guys, I'm sorry I haven't been on lately I've been really busy with school. Has anything come from testing in irl? Also, could we start coming up with some art descriptions so I can put them on the cards? we have some but I think more would really flesh out the world a bit...
