Wow yeah, this is awesome!
Especially those first two abilities! perfect flavor, and really fun!
His WAR card sucks, one of the worst uncommon walkers imo... I didn't expect much for a new character. (Teferi doesn't coun, he's technically ancient)
I hope he is as good in the book as he was in Children of the Nameless, probably my favorite magic story. Great book.
Yeah... I'm trying to figure out how I beat an opponent who played this card on round two if I don't have enchantment destruction, and they have a single Tome Scour somewhere in their deck.
I thought Clearwater Goblet was oppressive...
This will turn so many games into "Ok, who played first? You win, in 50 turns time."
Replacement effect so it doesn't go infinite
Does this kind of card need a clause to ensure you keep it going? Seems too easy to turn it off if it's working out. Something like "when ~ LTB, you lose life equal to the number of counters on it"
This is so much more representative than his actual card.
I wish I could make the minus ability more like Animal Companion, except with Miss Highwater, Crunchgnar, and Brerig.
Means this is a bad common.
I think 0, or at least * is 0 when you're not on a planet. I think that's what I was going for with this and Duroc, Destroyer of Worlds
Depends; where are you playing the match?
So what's the default gravity?
I suppose that's why red used to get Stranglehold
I don't know. Could be a reasonably green ability. With rules-setting abilities it's always fun to ask: "What color other than white could this be?" And green keeping the 'devious' colors blue and black from tutoring seems just as good an argument as anything else.
Even allowing lands to tutor seems like a green enough twist.
An accidentally very green name, but not at all a green ability
Ugh. You're supposed to only name a card that the search effect can find, so you have to name a basic land in the Rampant Growth example. And I didn't think about tutors that don't do to hand, so bug. This is too many words to fit
Several issues:
I was basing it off Stranglehold
Fancy. Could probably cost less, as a hoser.
No, it literally counts the cards you're physically looking at. If you search and keep your deck face down, you're not "looking" at any so you won't take damage (other than from the card you finally choose, since that gets added to your hand). If it was just all cards in the zone, you die instantly
Also it's super cool
Why does this have to be silver bordered? It seems strong, but otherwise legit...? If I'm not mistaken it does a similar thing to the linked card, just briefer... is it a rules thing? Because that's an unfortunate reason to lose design space :(
Silver bordered take on Lava River of Dreams. You only "look" at a card if you see the front face.
Black bordered take on Visions of Burning. At least you can try to set it up with scry effects.
@dude1818: Thanks for the rules clarification. I forgot they hard-coded in that exception. Just shows the drawback of making your designs works by patching then rules. :)
This captures actually a lot of the aspects of the actual Mowu:
Certainly worthy representation.
Okay i take offense at that (not really), it's a pretty good card...
Also the trend with Wizards seems to be if a cute pet card is made that is works with counters
see Toothy, Imaginary Friend
This is much more flavorful tho imo... I like it a lot :)
