I know we're trying to be different from Zendikar but there are going to be places where it overlaps. The first Invokers came from Legions as well so it doesnt feel to weird. There's other directions we can go as well, as far as mana sinks are concerned.
Mana sinks are awesome, especially with all the triggered abilities we have right now. I just thought we wanted it to be different from Zendikar, so using a so far Zendikar exclusive type of card feels a bit weird.
I think them transforming when they die is fine. Could do something else but I feel that we'd want to make them different to the blue DFC enchantment that does something similar to this.
On another note does anyone know why the aura DFC have to come in attached to a something? My understanding of auras is that if you dont cast them from the hand with a target then you choose the target when it comes into play. I know this is the way its worded on Accursed Witch but im just curious as to why this is.
Why Capsize? Permanent is much more different than creature. It's more similar to Coastal Wizard, and its intended use is to move itself plus another creature of the battlefield. Only creatures you control would defeat the purpose of the card.
This is actually something that I felt we needed, more mana sinks. Similar to kicker being in Zendikar, we should have some things to put the extra mana you get from increasing your discovery.
added card type

I feel this is fine, especially as its the only card in black that touches on that. Black does have a minor get a +1/+1 counter when a creature dies/is sacrificed.
Maybe a mill based on discovery? Having three counters at common is something that felt a bit off to me so im all for changing this.
Don't know if this should still get back enchantments as we've cut most of that back from the other colors. Probably should get something else instead but I don't know what.

feels more fitting
Ramp set needs Invoker cycle
Its a slightly better Shambling Ghoul. Don't think thats a problem, especially when you can play 3/3 for 2 cmc nowadays.
Why does this set have so much bad scry e. g. Palm Reading.
Further: How many creatures that scry or almost scry on ETB does this set get? This, Seeker of Mystery, Emori Seer...
We already have a land cycle that sacrifices itself for card draw and land animation slotted in.
I was actually going to suggest something like this myself.
green-white having a theme doesn't mean you cannot have it appear in other colors occassionally - otherwise there would be no DFCs in three of the colors.
Hi, there Capsize. Long time no see.
I personally would restrict this to creatures you control to emphasize the intended use.
Changed CMC and Activation Costs
Unlike the cycle of cards that do something similar to this, I feel the cycling cost is a bit high compared to what it does. 2R would be better.
Looking at this one again, I'm not sure how I feel about black taking on the +1/+1 counters theme. That's supposed to be for white and green.
Added discovery reminder text.
I'd feel better changing the P/T to 2/2 on this. It feels right with the rest of the numbers (2 life, 2B costs, etc.) and it kind of has a bit of a wild P/T.
I suppose a card like this has its place but I'm not overly fond of us using off-color Discovery as a downside avoidance mechanic. There also are quite a few other black commons that use Discovery already.
I'm pretty adamant that this card needs to either be radically altered or replaced with something else because of how weak it is, and because we already have a more effective uncommon Discovery counterspell.
Since we've introduced a few Mill cards, how about replacing this with a vanilla cycling Mill card to fill out Mill as a viable option in the set?
TRicher, how do you feel about changing this and its black companion to transform when the creature dies? That makes more sense to me considering Secret's point, and it's in line with some of the other cards we have that transform from creatures into enchantments.
Yea that feels right as a vanilla cycling card.
changed it so it was more in line with what the other 'vanilla' cycling cards we have
