Is this really the kind of removal we want to push in this set for white? I think this kind of need has moved to solvable removal like Silkwrap in white.
We also have no common enchantment removal yet which is more typical for white common spells than creature destruction.
Suggestion: + Replace this at common with Solemn Offering. + Earmark Fade Away for uncommon slot later.
I like this idea.
See Merciful Fate.
See Card73455. Reprint.
Since we already talk about Limited themes a lot, how about adding the signpost uncommons to the skeleton in addition to the commons to get a better idea of how things are supposed to fit together?
Gave name. Could still be placeholder name.
Changed to apply to all creatures with T abilities. Don't think that's necessarily too oppressive.
I had a nagging feeling that this is a bit too powerful as well, granting flying to all your creatures repeatedly. You do have to work for it by tapping or attacking, but still.
Wait a minute... isn't this effect a little much for a two-mana common? Repeatable Skyshaper?
Even for one creature this seems strong within its field. I don't see this fitting this slot.
Would it be too powerful for this to apply to opponent's creatures too? I like it for now, just wondering if it might be a little too restricted now and could easily say "has all activated abilities of each other creature with
in its cost."
Yea, I just changed it to that.
Changed to deal 3 damage to creature or player.
Probably should just hit for 3 on a creature OR player.
Problem is, this card is part of a cycle of commons.
The only solution I can see to your objection would just be to make it deal 3 damage to target creature or player.
Arc Lightning is both an uncommon and is not a 3/3 while you aren't using it as removal yet.
The removal part is what pushes this out of common (+complexity), so I don't think not hitting players is much in this cards favor.
We had so many 3/3s at common, I took the liberty to make this a 4/2 in addition to radically changing its purpose: Can now be cycled cheaply for cycle triggers.
melding Yaados Militant and Ashna Piker; removing first strike and first strike granting; cycling 2R >> cycling R, 3/3 >> 4/2; Human >> Lizard; see also Ashna Piker
Maybe a little pushed, but it's still weaker than 3 damage divided among any target creature or player like Arc Lightning, as it's only creatures. Also costs 4 mana.
melded Yaados Militant and Ashna Piker; (haste >> first strike) x2, Lizard >> Human; see also Yaados Militant
Changed word to just refer to creatures with
abilities.
That's a good suggestion, as it keeps it closest to what the real intent of the card is.
I think we don't need two commons that go to the same "cycling/basic landcycling triggers a spell effect" well in the same color. Since the basic landcycling thing is supposed to be a cycle, maybe switch around names and keywords?
We could actually have a virtual vanilla cycler for
in red since it would probably benefit most from a cheap common cycler with its theme.
Could probably be a 2/2 or a 2/1. Dont see this as being a big problem aside from the fact its in red and most of the similar cards to this are in green.
Well, a near functional reprint without enchantment then. :)
"can only ... with" >> "can't ... without"; added flavor text
The trigger effect on the back says this is not a common.
Yaados Militant already does that. There isn't a ton of other mechanics that we can replace it with to keep it at common. Maybe just cut Yaados Militant and change this to first strike?
Reduced cycling cost by
Okay, so this attacks as a 3/3 trampler for three without you even trying... Kavu Scout has come a long way - but this is far to efficient right now.
We're trying to keep the enchantment theme in black and white. Initially we had it in all colors but it started taking away from the land theme of the set and started making it about enchantments.
