Marion sounds far too normal IMO.
I actually don't really know who this person is, why doesn't this just belong to our aven legendary?
I kinda like the +2/+2 idea, so maybe a 2/2 for
that gets +2/+2?
only hits your graveyard
I agree that the fine points of color distinction are important, I just don't think this is one of them, but I seem to be the dissenting opinion on this matter.
Could this maybe be an instant then?
So, does that mean we're changing this or not?
formatting fix
The "lands in graveyards" is more of a side-effect of the
theme than the theme itself. The Theme for
is Land Manipulation. The
half changes its resources at hand to suit its needs (represented by changing land types and having them produce colorless mana. The
half is more focused on the destructive effects of industry and its willingness to sacrifice resources (in this case land) to achieve its goals (colorless mana.) The “Lands in graveyards” subtheme is there to give players an incentive to sacrifice resources in order to profit (win.) The lands in graveyard theme also has good interactions with the Spellslinger theme so it’s there for multiple reasons not just
.
Fair enough. I am curious about what the blue half does, since changing of types/messing with their mana has nothing to do with lands in the graveyard.
I think tapping things is tertiary for red. I could be wrong.
Also, this ability needs to be on one line, with Steam powered at the front.
Steam powered - Whenever Big Horn Thunderhoof attacks, you may pay
for any number of target creatures. If you do, tap those creatures. If only colorless mana was spent this way, Big Horn Thunderhoof deals 2 damage to each of those creatures.
This seems odd sitting next to Soul's Might. Does green really need two uncommon sorceries that give a creature +1/+1 counters?
I approve of the switch. This set has a ton of complexity at common, and this seems like it could help.
Shouldn't this just say "Indestructible" instead of saying it has it?
Cane
I move that this card be brought up back on the MTGS forum for as a hole to be filled.
Is this supposed to be Mechanical Cane? Or is it like an industrial crane?
Missing the mana symbol formatting for the Upgrade cost.
Missing the "W" on "Whenever".
Should this say "...return that card to the battlefield under its owner's control with an additional +1/+1 counter on it."? That line seems to get used on occasion, especially when +1/+1 counters are already being used in a set.
I second the sorcery suggestion. Mass pump + life gain feels sorcery speed.
Marion sounds good. Some others I like: Abigale, Alva, Beatrice, Edwina, Helene, Millicent, Roesia, Sophronia, and Zylphia.
I second the 2/2 for
suggestion.
Heck,
and
get 1cc 2/1s with upside. At uncommon, that is.
Diregraf Ghoul is an uncommon, FWIW.
Ghostway always seemed like more of an answer to mass removal to me. This doesn't do that, but enables numerous other shenanigans.
I think the line "repeat this process X more times" works just fine. You could target the same guy repeatedly if you want. I'm actually not sure how you could limit it to only target something once, since when it comes back, the game treats it as a new object. The current version is fine. And Johnny-tastic fun.
Changing it to only target one item would require a lot of extra text. I don't think it needs it.
I don't think that having it be the same target everytime would work. Wouldn't the card be a new object after it flickers once? I think the "choose new target" part is essential to making it work.
Or, we make the bonus much bigger. +2/+2 for each part on it.
Maybe a 1/1 for 2.
Then it'll regularly get snagged by the wrong decks for being a 2/2 for 3 in bad packs. You kinda want to get a few of these. I think a 2/2 for 4 is a great place for it, or as a 1/1 for 3.
Yeah, me too. It's funny how W & G have seem to have the best 2/1 for C, but R and B and U have the common ones. I guess the other colours get narrower ones that can be common, but W and G get the ones without a drawback at uncommon.
