There is Intruder Alarm, but of course that combos with everything and doesn't particularly care what you choose.
The flavour text is delightfully multi-level. I fear there aren't any great two-card combos with this, sadly, due to changelings.
V: Removal is most relevant in the early turns of the game, when both these cards do nothing.
My deckbuilding self wants this to be a colorless artifact, but I couldn't resist giving it Simic flavor.
Changed according to suggestion
Neat card. I think wording wise it should read, "If a permanent's ability is countered this way, it loses that ability." See Trickbind.
I think the wording is right, or at least can't pin point any problem with it. This is fairly different from Balance as this gets the caster back into a game and relies on how far ahead your opponents are. Probably more balanced than Balance which was Mind Twist, Wrath of God, and Armageddon if played right.
Mourner's Pall is a better name than Death's Approach in my opinion. That being said, it would make more sense (have better flavor) if it was creatures in the graveyard, what with the grief and funeral and all...
Huh "
, Sorcery, destroy target creature, it cannot be regenerated or invulnerablated." Wotc just aint consistent with the power of remocal, are they? (Anyhow, that's "creature cards" this is "all cards" so a one mana upcost seems very appropriate)
@Movezig5 Death's Approach
I like this card a lot. It would make a mill strategy more relevant during the game. I'm pretty sure there's a similar card in Gatecrash.
That is true.
I actually really like this. Good design imo.
Soulfire Master is certainly insane. Granting buyback

to any instant or sorcery is pretty crazy. Definitely a mythic pushed for constructed to an irritating degree. But it is at least a tax of 4 on top of the card's normal mana cost - it doesn't bypass mana costs the way the cards we've been discussing here do.
I would also argue that, though this isa drastically different effect, it's far less annoying than the recently revealed Soulfire Grand Master.
Good point, Master Transmuter demonstrated that Wizards don't have a problem with Elvish Piper effects, at least as recently as Conflux...
It's a less oppressive take on it, at least. Probably every bit as broken. Also feels green rather than white, somehow.
It's like Balance's evil twin.
Balance returns? Ouchie.
fixed a word order error; still unsure of wording though
It was meant to be a Master Transmuter variant, but I suppose she is in turn a sort of Elvish Piper variant.
