See Blade of Bloodlines and ((C41106)). I'm playing with a version of kixleart's "Ancestry," because it intrigues me.
Dual ancestry might be not be good for the first time ancestry is introduced, however.
See Blade of Bloodlines.

The text on Spock isn't perfect. Tap represents vulcan-nerve-pinch. But it needs to trump any one opposing creature, allowing attack, but not two, so neither "T:tap" or "T:detain" were quite right.
See Spock.
This should defeat scorpions (because there's one more token so deathtouch doesn't matter), fly over or double-block spock (leaving one tapped flier still alive) but lose to pinger and large-reach creature.
See Spock.
This was the simplest element of the cycle. Reach lets it defeat one flying creature (in earlier versions there were a couple) but lose to tap-single-creature spock.
Unfortunately Leaping Lizard already exists and I couldn't quite fit it in :)
See Spock.
A pinger to allow one creature to trump the members of the cycle with several small tokens instead of one larger creature.
(It's important that this is 1/1 and pings creatures only for 1. I can adjust the cost of the card and ability to make this equivalent to a standard red pinger without being a functional reprint.)
See Spock.
The first part of the cycle is to use two small deathtouch creatures to trump bigger creatures.
I started thinking about this on Challenge # 115 but it ended up not really being related to Sphinxes: could I model Rock-Paper-Scissors-Lizard-Spock on magic? http://www.samkass.com/theories/RPSSL.html
Obviously there are lots of cards that accidentally form this pattern, but can I make some specific ones, after Paper Tiger, Scissors Lizard, and Rock Lobster? I can't extend that cycle as it conflates lizard and scissors :) I aimed for cards that would fit in normal magic apart from using the proprietary name "Spock" :) Unfortunately, I couldn't make the names map onto the cards in the right order, so I changed what trumps what... :)
The idea is that each member of the cycle should trump two others, and be trumped by two others. I decided in this context "trump" means "can safely attack into, forcing a race you're winning, or safely block, forcing a stall".
The cycle is Spock->Rock-Thrower Goblin->Scissor-Claw Scorpions->(Leaping Lizard (Not that one)->Paperwing Flitters->Spock.
It should also obey the cycle Sp->LL->R->P->Sc->Sp.
I think this might be the most concise wording.
Was trying to think of a way of making Banding work. This was obviously inspired by the Soulbond mechanic from Avacyn Restored, which was itself inspired by Banding.
A group, btw, works similar to a pair. You declare which creatures are in the group. Unlike Soulbond, you can have groups overlapping as long as it is evident which creatures are grouped with which.
See Walking Words.
I made this because it reminds me of one of the issues of having instants and sorceries with permanent types.
Not much, I think. It's basically a variant on ETB abilities. I just saw someone making sorcery creatures somewhere and I was inspired to try my own variant.
Interesting mechanic but... I'm afraid I don't get it. I look at this and the others and, while neat, all I can think of are Magnivores and Anarchists... What am I missing?
