tweaked significantly, based on wording of Vivien's Grizzly
no great names for this, but this'll do
Quite a bit worse than Swift Response, but that is the most pushed version of this effect we've seen for a while. See also Vengeance < Take Vengeance < Swift Reckoning < Swift Response, plus Aerial Assault and Sheer Drop which have other things going on.
I wanted some commons to use prepare, the Prediction / planning mechanic, and this is a natural example.
This is one of the names from the list on Events / possible sorcery names, but any name would do.
This should probably move to "indestructible UEOT" now.
Another card using prepare Prediction / planning mechanic.
I don't want too many instances of hexproof because it's an annoying mechanic, even though it's really useful. This is a pretty natural card to exist, though, and especially if the (Green-blue archetype) has elements of heroic, liking spells that target your own creatures.
Currently on the shortlist are Fleetfoot Ninja (with her cycle), this, and Shinkiro Type-0/0A. This is a bit close to the effect of Shinkiro Type-0/0A. Hmm.
A tweak on Mirrorweave. A fun way to use Prepare. There had to be a card from this absurd One Million Zeros scene.
Created for raid (Black-red archetype) and control-change (Blue-red archetype).
Creature sacrifice effects are traditionally paired with control-change effects for the (Blue-red archetype) and also work great with revolt, the (Red-green archetype).
A very natural card for both Revolt (the (Red-green archetype)) and the ramp-themed (Green-white archetype) is a Sakura-Tribe Elder/Dawntreader Elk reprint. Trying to make this an early-game card to distinguish it from Custodians of Nippon, I came up with this variant on Lay of the Land.
As discussed on Raid & Revolt, I'm thinking of Revolt as the theme in this colour pair.
Cards that work particularly well in this archetype:
And also all the Knightmares with eject, in that they serve to keep your creatures alive while still triggering revolt.
Revolt
As discussed on Raid & Revolt, Overthrow didn't work too well. I'm thinking of Raid as the theme to black-red. So this will obviously include a bunch of cards with raid abilities, as well as various ways to trigger raid even if you don't have creature superiority, such as evasion effects.
Cards that work particularly well in this archetype:
Raid
I've almost finished watching it. This does fit him.
I finally came back to this after watching code geass; yes, that's perfect for him :)
Now I've read squirrel girl, the defeating Emrakul thing makes a lot more sense :)
And so does the names of the Knightmares; those city names and arthurian names are exactly the sort of thing the british empire did used to name things.
I'm impressed that you did, pretty much, manage to squeeze in six generations here :)
As mentioned on Raid & Revolt, blue wants to have a bit of a theme of saboteur effects. I was thinking I'd like a functional reprint of Scroll Thief, and then I remembered there's another variant with a flavour that fits perfectly into this set. Code Geass has plenty of human rogues stealing secrets, so a reprint of Stealer of Secrets seems highly appropriate.
As mentioned on Raid & Revolt, blue wants to have a bit of a theme of saboteur effects.
A powerful green uncommon with revolt, as discussed on Raid & Revolt. Strictly better than Striped Bears/Shaman of Spring/Nimble Innovator. Compare also Masked Admirers, Sage of Ancient Lore, Silvergill Adept. Mm, yeah, this is a little pushed. But I think of Silvergill Adept and think that green should have better creatures than blue. Maybe the discount should be
rather than
though.
