Recent updates to Code Geass: (Generated at 2024-06-03 17:03:14)
The alternate Aura form of Geass to Betray.
As discussed on Geass of Inaction.
This would be fiddly to do as a sorcery with the current Geass instant/sorcery reminder text, because the spell needs two targets. I'm happy for this to be an Aura, since Wizards have been printing this kind of thing recently, such as Warbriar Blessing. (I might end up making all Geasses Auras.)
Interestingly you can choose to use this on either the opponent's creature (that's about to die) or your own (which hopefully won't die immediately). Depends on whether you want your creature to have protection from other Geasses.
I probably wouldn't print this as well as Geass to Obstruct, but this might well be better.
Could be with flash, making this Pounce rather than Prey Upon.
The (Red-green archetype), revolt, very much likes ways for your stuff to leave the battlefield without dying. A version of the old Viashino ability (Viashino Sandscout, Viashino Sandstalker, Viashino Cutthroat; see also Dash cards like Goblin Heelcutter and Mardu Scout) seems eminently suitable.
A saboteur effect would be really nice for Kallen, as that way when she's suited up in her Guren Mk-II she gets to do it twice. But it's not a big deal, as she'll also kill an opponent in 2 hits like that...
partial rules text
The previous version of this was awful. (T: Look at top card; if it's a Geass you may play it.) Significantly upgraded. Now works nicely with the many Equipment in the set, as will be a theme among the blue cards; also still works with Geasses; and if you don't like the card it lets you optionally put it on the bottom. So it's strictly better than ": Scry 1". (Which is fine as that's an ability on a bad common Sigiled Starfish.)
overthrow rummaging -> raid rummaging
Hilariously, this design long predates the choice to use Revolt for the (Red-green archetype), but she works very well with Ruthless Insurgent and Recruiter for the Elevens.
was , common, and only got the counter on Overthrow (opponent was dealt >=4 damage this turn)
Inspired by Hidden Stockpile. Originally created as a signpost uncommon for the (Red-green archetype), but I realised it very much works with the (Blue-red archetype) of control-change effects too.
I don't want many sacrifice effects, but a couple like this and Ruthless Insurgent seem appropriate.
See (Red-green archetype).
See (Red-green archetype). Inspired by Vengeful Rebel. This could be a (conditional) one-sided punch.
Reprint. Smooths colour and works great with Revolt (the (Red-green archetype)). Both the name Evolving Wilds and Terramorphic Expanse could be made to fit Code Geass.
I'm taking Overthrow out of the set, but I might keep one or two cards like this one around, without the keyword.
tweaked significantly, based on wording of Vivien's Grizzly
