Double strike is an attempt to sortof reflect the Guren's Radiant Wave Surger, which allows it to destroy mech pilots without letting them eject. If an enemy mecha pilot dies to the first strike combat damage (i.e. ejects), it'll still be in combat during regular damage... dealing greatly reduced damage to this, but still receiving the full brunt of the Guren pilot's normal damage.

It also means "Ok, you better block me, seriously, I'm gonna eat your FACE for at least 6 damage if you don't block me" Not sure whether or not that's intended...
Heh. Well, yes, all the rare mechs are meant to be pretty potent and good at ending games; to deal with one will usually need a combination of multiple blockers and/or combat tricks.
benefit before costs
use mechanics to allow switching of "piloting""equipped"
This has hit the battlefield a couple of times. Feels powerful, but interactive. Perhaps could be +2/+1. At one point it was on something subjugated by Occupation Grunts, taking the power up to 2. It did manage the trick of killing an enemy mech (triggering eject) in first strike damage and then killing the pilot in regular combat damage, which is just what I was after.
terminology update: type Knightmare -> Equipment
standardise ability order: static, triggered, activated
