reword; was "May block an additional creature, as long as it's an artifact" (and, um, ~ is)
Oops, added. Wasn't sure what to use.
If I'm playing Plains, I'd rather have Glory Seeker. Or some other strictly better card.
I like the idea, but try a body that black can have and white can't.
P/T?
Reminds me of Rotting Giant.
Well, early on in the game it's kinda a time limit for how long it's useful. But yes, if your opponent has flashback or similar, it's a bonus. Glad you like it.
Historical note: I always used to say it was the Collossus of Sardinia. Which needless to say, made it harder to find on gatherer
Very interesting. It is a drawback, but one that can be rather useful sometimes (like against a graveyard deck). Reminiscent of Drake Familiar (which was always fun when drafted together with Flight of Fancy or Galvanic Arc).
I think "ramp spell" + "plains" is something like Kor Cartographer :)
LOL, I like Goblin, Derigibled though.
stop it being an artifact because; really, why should it be?
Hah! My first random draw is Ramp Spell + Plains. Two text-free cards. Let's try that again.
Goblin Dirigible + Rest in Peace.
So a miniature, flying, Colossus of Sardia and a persistent graveyard hoser.
So... Yeah, let's have "Exile a dead card" be its untap cost; that kinda works.
Costing? Complex Automaton suggests you can get 4/4+downside for 4. Su-Chi was usually a downside at the time :) Huh... I coulda SWORN there was some kinda artifact horse at 4/4. Can't find it though.
Now; this kinda has vigilance (or even worse, if you give it a tap ability) So probably safest to cost it a tad higher. On second thoughts; nah - let's make it an upkeep thing only; closer to source, and probably safer. Lets it stay uncommon, too.
Pun and done.
(Valor's name is confused because of the tombstone symbol.)
Also by comparison with Anger XXValor etc. (Though the white one gives first strike.)
A shame; it seemed a natural mash. Maybe have it bounce a land on TB as well as be tapped? (And why is it XXValor, not just Valor?)
I'd suggest against dealing damage. Nobody enjoys having damage dealt to them, and, besides being grandfathered in on lands, it isn't really isn't appropriate in 3 colors.
Maybe we can just say that "White is the strongest one in the cycle." :D
Yeah; I'm not sure either. Rule of thumb I've previously used is is "If there's a 2 mana artifact that does it" - and this breaks that.
This was probably fairer when mana burn existed.
Serra's Blessing suggests it would be a bit too good. Maybe also add "When this becomes tapped, it deals 1 damage to you"?
I was thinking this wasn't rare; cards like Chlorophant say otherwise, but I think the opponent restriction makes this not very good (not to say it's a bad design).
Also, I kinda want to put all types of counters on this. Charge, filibuster, arrow...
for all of them!
What the heck; it's soulshift; it should be a spirit. And I don't mind that this is now also secretly a llanowar elf; but I will upcost it slightly.
Infinite Hourglass + Manafire Familiar
Cranking out the ice age stuff now. Creatures grow over time; unless someone pays to stop it. It's like a green Armageddon clock.
And... a little red critter that can be used to save mana for later. Nice.
Tempted to combine the two into storage land. But there's an even more obvious combination to go with. Which... ends up kinda being soulshift. Ah well.
Oh, hey, I really like that rider. Very similar to the Glissa Sunseeker ability everyone wants to design around, but without the 'having to pay attention to the amount of mana in your pool' quirk that rides along with it.
Though, I wonder if it is too good. I know Vigilance is one of the weaker keyword abilities, but granting the ability to your team every turn must be worth something. It's like, what? A two cost enchantment? That would be the rough equivalent of an etb tapped island reading "
, Discard a card: Draw a card." ala Compulsion. Actually, maybe that's fair. I really don't know how to do power level on ETB tapped lands...
((C19937)) + Dwarven Hold Ah, the original storage lands - almost never as good as they first seemed (and oracle has further nerfed) meet a land that can become a creature boost.
And.. I think this is just about fair. Trade a land drop for vigilance; and you get to keep vigilance - as long as you use it up in main1.
Not sure extending it to other colours would be fair, though.
Heh, fun! It can always function as "just" a wrath, so it'll certainly be useful. In fact, it's sortof "whichever of Wrath and Relentless Assault you need most right now", in that it'll give you an extra attack if that lets you win, and failing that, a Wrath if that lets you not lose.
It's also fun with evasive saboteurs or suchlike, though I guess they don't tend to be in red-white. I guess I could see Boros casting this to get another use of their Battalion triggers and then to kill all the annoying Dimir evasive critters that have been beating them down in return, or suchlike.
Yeah, this is fine. It's sortof a puzzle in that it's - well, in fact, it's reminiscent of Challenge # 071 because it's two abilities which definitely have no synergy with each other, and yet the card is still good because either half will often be useful.
Mashup of Dark Imposter and Android Assassin.
Dark Imposter is the sort of card that I can't believe isn't more broken. I guess in constructed, if your opponent has a creature you can't remove and six mana to throw around, you can assume they win.
But it makes it hard for me to judge what's a fair level of "I gain control of all your creatures". I'm not sure if this is right: it's probably too swingy that this is in many ways worse than Sower of Temptation if you don't have a way to untap it (it's reusable, but costs more), but much better if you can untap it.
Mashup of Grassroots and Training Drone
Huh. Well those two cards were very different, but they went together quite well. I wish I could get a bit more of the originals in.
This is a bit of a splashy-but-boring card, but it can be the win condition in equipment decks.
