Seriously, what is happening? What are you editing? There's been tons of editing going on in the last 24 hours with absolutely no information what exactly was edited, including the skeleton!
Agreed, let's keep a Common DFC simple. Prowess on both sides + an activated ability + a triggered ability is way too much for a Common. Better stats are doable though, 1/2 is about average for
with ability.
The negative synergy is intentional, you need to use this in a clever way instead of just a generic combat trick.
also has had a lot of +1/+1 plus ability effects recently,
got more +2/+0-+0/+2 instead.
It could be more offensive through a lower CMC? Or a rather unusual +2/+1?
At that point I think it makes the cards very convoluted for a common. Would rather just make it a 2/2 on the front side.
If we can cut down on some other reprints then I think Shared Discovery works very well.
If you imagine each layer as being a different 'world', similar to the shards in Alara, then there will be a big enough body of water on one of them to be counted as a sea or ocean. Name will probably end up being changed anyway when we get art.
I would rather see a more offensive version of this card.
@Remindertext: All of the old ones have to go. Discovery and Unbound need a reminder text of course, but the rest could basically be deleted. Let's think about those cards having a lot of space for flavourtext to really tell a story.
@Small toughness: Yep, a clarification would be nice, so far it is not that easily discernible how it is implemented since many cards have standard strength and toughness for
and
.
@Editing cards: Please guys, let's have some consensus on etiquette here. I see a lot of editing going on WITHOUT specifying what has been edited! We don't have a way to see what has been changed, so please write at least a short sentence what you did. Teamwork people!
Just submit a discovery card for it then. This is the best I could come up with while also taking care of tomorrow's playtest. ;)
Well, the slot is really just "off-color Discovery". It doesn't have to use it this particular way.
It kind of is meh, in that without meeting the Discovery requirement, it's an overcosted Sign in Blood.
I'M not a fan of this kind of discovery either, but that's the slot I'm trying to fill. shrug
Another discard card could be useful.
I guess I'm not overly fond of this type of use of Discovery on either this or Deathrite Familiar, where Discovery 3 or more is necessary to get the effect at all. For example, a card like Ravenous Rats is more simple and effective than this. As a player I'd rather put a card like that in my deck than one that makes me work for the same effect by meeting some condition.
This is definitely 'meh' from design perspective.
Not sure, makes it more powerful for the cost I guess. But man, it's generally not a good idea to substantively edit other people's designs in the file without at least a little discussion first.
Should both our instant and sorcery removal cost double black?
See Asphyxiate. I've been thinking about removal that fits the LTB/token aggro theme better.
Can we clarify the "small toughness" theme? I see there is an uncommon signpost playing of it in the set, but is there any intentional play off of it at common?
See Deathrite Familiar.
Oltac Thrull does the "returning something upon death"-game sooo much better.
Roothollow Parasite does the returning creatures based on power better AND by using discovery.
This needs a new twist.
