Final card for the creature/land DFC cycle. Least sure of this one, don't know if something better or more interesting can be done on the 2nd side. There is also currently no open space in the skeleton for it.

Added in.

Kind of feeling that this should untap up to three target creatures. I think scry 3 might be a bit pushed at common.

Yea since all of the rest have a creature theme on the 2nd side, that's probably a better idea anyways.

Changed to untap creatures for continuity.

Another thought here: it would increase the continuity and flavor even more if each mana cost was changed to {3} + 1 colored mana. I don't know if that would cause balance concerns though.

Changed into "when this permanent transforms into". Source Abolisher of Bloodlines

Shouldnt these be 'When this land transforms into ~' rather than permanent if we're going off Abolisher of Bloodlines?

Abolisher is a creature on both sides, so there is no ambiguity. I would have to do the research on whether there is a type changing card with this kind of ability.

Seriously, what is happening? What are you editing? There's been tons of editing going on in the last 24 hours with absolutely no information what exactly was edited, including the skeleton!

I think for the DFC lands hes just adding the reminder text for what the lands tap for, something which was definatly missing from them before. I just noticed the tap symbol hadnt been formatted so went and changed it. As far as other cards, its all reminder text for keywords and mechanics.

Then please write that when editing. Thank you for doing that, really appreciated, but please give info. I personally do not know every card by heart, so it's a bit aggravating to see so much editing without knowing what happened. By the way, why do the cards need more reminder text? Especially something so basic as "Add {u} to your mana pool"?

Yeah should have wrote what I was doing, but it was such a small change I just forgot :p

Its to do with the lands having a basic land type without being a basic land. Normally nonbasics tell you what they tap for, and if they dont they dont tap for mana. People can see this card and think that its like those. See; Dryad Arbor, Temple Garden, Canopy Vista. This is one of the cases where we need reminder text.

You're going to have to click on the links to see what I mean because the ones it shows are 'promo' versions...

I am not tagging nonfunctional changes e. g. correcting typos, adding reminder text, tagging keywords (Note that it's not me adding the reminder text - except for discovery - adding reminder text is an automated function of magicmultiverse.net).

I have started even adding comments for that since there was a complaint. Functional changes have always been tagged with additions stating what was added and changes also stating the original state.

The cards need the reminder text because land types on type lines are easily missed. A future playtester literally stared at the white member of this cycle (sans reminder text) for a minute and then stated: "Shouldn't a land produce mana?"

The players are good enough to know the rule, but when you are playing with 100 cards you have never seen before you are going to miss A LOT. And type lines of lands are the most overlooked thing I can come up from the top of my head.

From what I saw yesterday, I could swear you also were adding reminder text to every single keyword, down to flying and first strike. There were edits that were made where I couldn't tell the difference other than that there was now reminder text for a keyword like Prowess and Menace. This site was not automatically doing that on its own before, and I believe it was you who decided to add the rules text of many more mechanics, including evergreen ones, into the mechanics page.

The only reason I can think of for adding reminder text that comprehensively is maybe for the sake of playtesters who don't know already?

Why aren't you tagging nonfunctional changes? That's a "chicken or egg" situation, we can't know that you did nonfunctional changes if you don't write it into the edit, unless it's a card we know completely by heart, which for me is next to no card.

I'm also very suspicious of the sudden reminder text, magicmultiverse didn't do that until now. Might have happened because the evegreen mechanics have been added to the mechanics page, including their reminder text.

If the type line has been overlooked then this is a problem, yes, although personally I'm not a fan of too much remindertext.

Simplification takes its toll...

This comment history seems too convoluted to follow, but this is blue ramp. Viridian Emissary -like, but uses DFC tech. So it's out of pie for blue and the use of DFC isn't justified here IMO. If the thing is to avoid shuffling, then I would suggest have it look at top cards of library in some manner instead.

It's a cycle that supports a set-theme, so the idea is to see whether the Solemn Simulacrum-style bend is worth it. Currently the aim is to make the cards play well enough to consider whether they need to be culled.

Maybe we can make animating lands out of them that revert to lands whent hey die, but that sounds like another rarity of effect.

The "thing" is to have more diversely named lands in your deck - even beyond land slots.

Now it's hardest to die/ramp for blue. :)

Fair enough, I guess. The visual spoiler seems unviewable so I can't tell for sure, but is the use of DFC widespread? For this cycle I would be more inclined to try something that causes less overhead. As an example, you could have creatures that enters with some counters and when they die they become lands (without said counters). Also an interesting place to try to have names that make some sense for a creature and for a land.

You can look at the skeleton rather than the visual spoiler - it's more representative anyway. Among other things, I cannot guarantee the visual spoiler doesn't contain inactive cards.

The counter solution seems to come with a lot of restrictions for the +1/+1 counter theme and explicitly a solution for a set that doesn't have DFCs yet. If DFCs weren't widespread yet, I'd use a Land Grant-death trigger here instead.
