Not sure if that is necessary. I think it's fine as long as it doesn't untap itself on turn one. I'm willing to concede that point if there is other contention.
The first doesn't seem black. The second is absurd. The third is weird considering the GU one.
Edit: Ignore the first point. I read it as +1/+0 for some reason. Still not a huge fan, but it is black-ish after all.

I think if we're not doing the Mortuary Mire ability, this needs a restriction of some sort. Other options:
- Target creature gets -1/-0 and blocks this turn if able.
- Target creature gets +1/+1 and gains deathtouch.
- Add
to your mana pool.

Niggling aside: Shouldn't this say "Crew 2"? I get, and assume that every card with crew in this set only requires two untapped creatures. So I understand why you guys would probably think that's redundant. But setting crew to only be two creatures now means that it can't be a different number of creatures in a later set...
This probably needs to be moved to uncommon
I'm not saying this card isn't in color. It is. I just don't think we want our only RW uncommon slot to encourage Artifacts if our RW mechanic isn't related to artifacts at all.
Currently, our RW archetype is revolution aggro, with slight dips into Justice (from the white) and Renown (from the red). There is no need for Artifacts to play a part in this. Since we are not a heavy multicolor set we need our two color uncommons to really focus in on what we want that particular color pair to do.
Aside from set specifics, 1his is 100% in-color. White gets the p/T equal to critters you control (and red has had it before). Red can care about artifacts. Personally I don't feel that two blue (Master of Etherium and Broodstar, but note Slag Fiend) cards are enough to tie the "p/t equal to the number of artifacts you control" ability 100% into blue, but that's just me.

Do we want to move this to a different color? RW doesn't strike me as an artifacts matter pair. I still like the card though.
