Fair enough. Full ten or just five?
CasualR well thats what I'm suggesting. Dual color spell lands seem like both narrow design space, difficult to balance and potentially something more suited to rare.
No longer stealing cards and putting them into your hand.
This seems pretty grindy in Limited.
Control finisher for constructed. (That isn't Possibility Titan )
Red seems real strong. Green (as always) seems to get it's cards designed last. Here's a card for both.
The big issue with this is how we want to deal with comparisons between this and (((Sky Pirate))). Are they too similar? Different enough? Personally, I think we have enough variety in our flyers that we don't need multiple 3 mana minor upside 2/1 fliers.
Sigh, I do see how cool that is, but the intent was for two color spell lands. If we're going to do that effect, I would probably make it the full cycle, not a one off.
Mugging as an instant? Seems fine.
"Add
" doesn't have to mean that colourless mana is important. Unknown Shores and Llanowar Wastes and so on were all sensible cards in their original formats even without Kozilek and friends. "Add
" is a very natural thing to put on a land. It doesn't even have anything to do with artifacts: 80%+ of Magic cards include a cost that you can spend
on.
A land that ETBTs but adds
on ETB is a card that people love to keep designing, and I'm sure it'll get printed eventually now that Crumbling Vestige has introduced the pattern (effectively in reverse).
Thundercrash --> Flashbang. 3 mana sorcery for 3 to 2 mana instant for 2
Indeed. It's a super-fun mechanic so far, but it was never going to appear on that many cards anyway. Might be better to reduce the numbers and thus the comprehension complexity of the set.
I think it is something we were lacking, There really wasn't much "Deal damage spells" on file. This seems to be something BR minded to help break through stalled boards.
Would we want to reduce cost if we reduced the damage? 1R deal 2, Falter?
Premium red common that is good at all stages of the game.
I wonder if making this a 2 damage version (with some sort of cost change) would be more interesting as currently the anti blocking clause is so rarely going to show up due to how much a 3 dmg spell kills most limited creatures.
Me and Inanimate have actually been discussing just un-Keywording it and making it a vertical cycle.
The third option as a cycle is the most elegant in my opinion. Your right we don't care about
in the way OGW does but having minor reasons to like artifacts more is certainly a good thing now that Advancement is gone.
Or player.
That could reasonably work. I slightly worry what that would do to constructed, but that's definitely an option.
Not every set needs nor should be five color wonderland.
When I read this, I assumed all members of the cycle would be "when this ETB, untap another land you control" and thought that was quite a good idea...
I don't like using Echo as a precedent for much.
Man that is wasted namespace.
I would be alright with having Crew 2 be a thing. It's not too hard for templating at the least.
Agreed.
I don't think we want to go back and make colorless mana actually important, though the sooner we decide that the better. I do think that ETB add
will eventually be a cycle.
Eh, ish. Wizards have added numbers into abilities with errata before (echo). There are arguments both ways.
Crosslinking the rest of the cycle: Filigree Factory, Corrupted Courtroom, Weapons Cache, AEther Plantation.
I'd be fine with an uncommon two-colour Mortuary Mire. I think that's better than any of the other options suggested so far. "Target creature gains deathtouch UEOT" (without the +1/+1) is probably reasonable, and quite interesting.
The third option (ETB add
) I think is pretty cool, but wants to be on a whole cycle all by itself.
No, sadly you can't - I never made a way to edit log messages. (Nor do most other sites, to be fair.) I fixed it with a manual database edit.
Reminds me of Flying Crane Technique. That granted flying as well for the extra blue mana, but this has lifelink and haste... seems probably better.
