I'm mainly intending the sac bit to be "Ok; the thing I was controlling died; one final advantage now"
If people wanna give back a creature to risk drawing an island, that's their own fault ;) I'd not expect a newbie to take that risk.
Feel-bad moments ahoy!
Was aiming at Seasinger, but ok.
Seems a nice twist on Sower of Temptation.
Constricting Tendrils + Infestor
So, a fairly weak, but cycling... hang on; fairly weak? It's seriously bad! Ok, a card you won't feel bad about cycling (that, to be fair, gives vblue a defensive combat trick) - and a ninjitsu variant that... steals a creature. Nice.
Hmm. I'm thinking a mermaid that can be cycaled from play.
One with Everything:
"Prepare one overcrowded hotdog. You win the game. Then taste the sauerkraut. You lose the game."
Was watching the news, where some reporter tried the "One with Everything" joke on the Dalai Lama, substituting hotdogs with pizza. The Dalai Lama didn't get it... he's got a decent grasp on English, but the nuance of the joke didn't come through, since you'd have to be familiar with both versions of the expression to find it funny. That was a very awkward three minutes of reportage, where the reporter had to explain the joke, and... well, yeah...
I was tempted to try and play silly beggars with the ordering to try and get "Hey, and then this is countered before I lose! Result!" But thankfully, I didn't.
Your idea makes a good card though. Make it a cheap sorcery and see how many people flash it into play :)
Hm. Maybe there should be a card like Hex which says "Destroy target artifact, target enchantment, target creature and target land. Counter target spell."? :)
let's make it lifeloss; Black sometimes survives that. Justifies the card just enough; maybe. Also; rarity.
Caustic Wasps + Dromar's Sigil)
Well.. great. Mash with.. an already mashed, by me, card that I hate. Fine; let's go silly and get a super-charm with a black effect I really like. (This is kinda sorta usable in team multiplayer; maybe.)
Hmm. No, Innocent Blood or Barter in Blood would work very nicely with this timing-wise.
El-Hajjâj + Soul Transfer
Huh. Well, that's the castign cost decided, then. And black lifelink. Clearly.
Along with... um, a rather undercosted "Animate an opponents creature" sorcery. At uncommon? Ok, I think we can combine this as a reasonable thing.
Of course, this pretty much turns into "~ is unblockable" in black; but black tends to have a lot of sac outlets, and this has to be tempting. Possibly still undercosted, but you do need something else to team it up with and to kill an opponents creature (such a terribly difficult thing for black to do)
Ideally used with "Each player sacrifices a creature" I guess (or.. bah, timing issues on the targeting, I think.)
Honourable mention to Double-barrel deathray which was the next random card. Purely for the name.
Ring of Kalonia + Searing Lava.
the "During your upkeep +1/+1" matches well with the 1 damage; so here we have a ring which burns the wearer severely - and everything else a bit.
You can either put it on a small creature, for semi-targetted removal and that creature probably dies; or put it on a creature that can shrug off 4 damage and blow everything else up.
With added room for protection, and the "My creatures get bigger when you hit them" and damage redirect and... I forsee people doing fun things with this card; but I don't think it's that powerful.
Too crazy with Puresteel Paladin?
perhaps "attaches to a creature it wasn't attached to."? I'm not sure. What I do know is that the Loxodon Mirror doesn't become equiped... the creature becomes equipped. "When Loxodon Mirror equips a creature" is kind of an odd sentence... since ~ continuously equips creatures. Perhaps words can be added to the rulebook instead of the card?
Loxodon Warhammer + Beacon-Mirror Golem
Living weapon. Equip: Equipped creature gets +1/+1 and "Whenever this creature becomes tapped, you may scry 1"
Too literal? Probably. Too wordy, certainly.
A couple of scry's a turn is potentially really really strong. Loxodon warhammer is also really really strong. We are therefore potentially looking at a MIGHTY uncommon. And scry was in set. And they both cost 3, too.
Ok, switch "Whenever you.." into "equip" and ditch the most annoying bit of the warhammer.
It's also a bit strange that reducing the damage that the Basilisk does prevents damage prevention.
My thought would be to make this a 2/2 and have the counter get added to when the Basilisk attacks, in order to keep the Basilisk at least a 2/2 when damage prevention prevention time comes... but I think I might just be redesigning the card instead of helping. Maybe you need a "When you do this" trigger to make the card feel a bit more like Turntimber? 'When you cast an instant or sorcery' is pretty funny, considering that's probably the time you needed it anyway. Again, though, I might just be designing to my own purposes.
Turntimber Basilisk + Brass Knuckles
Landfall luring deathtouch; and an antihealing punch.
... bah. This kinda works; but doesn't keep much of the turntimber.
Are we sure this shouldn't be a boar?

We need a symbol for (a). Nitpick implemented.
We need a symbol for (a). Nitpick implemented.
Delightful rules text that a) looks like it's reminder text, b) does some very interesting things, and c) actually works as correctly-templated rules text.
(Teeechnically the abilities should start "Whenever" and "As long as", but that'd be pretty excessively nitpicky.)
the whole thing sounds redundant. I mean, That's what combat is
Vitenka: [14:19] Simple Ox probably isn't really that good, unless you can convince an opponent to block with a pile of Wall of Woods
MaxDymond: [14:20] Oh, yeah. I thought Fight worked from beyond the grave, but they've ruled it as not
Vitenka: [14:21] Well, it still firstest-strikes creatures with its full power until they kill it
Vitenka: [14:22] or tramples its full power, rather than its reduced power after killing the chumping one. It can't be that good, after all.
Vitenka: [14:23] It's nicely not a strict upgrade over War Mammoth; since that isn't stopped flat by a 3/1 the way this is.
also, I kinda like how "Swapwalk" has become "NoFatties-walk"
I love the way the last line seems to be a tautology, but actually isn't.
