As dude1818 suggested, a mash up of two mash ups: Ambulatory Cremation and Clockwork Basilisk.
I mashed-up based on the finished versions of both cards, trying to keep some element of all four originals, but not worrying when I couldn't.
There was enough complicated input it was hard to get a plausible card out. But I think this is not bad. It's expensive to use but being able to reanimate two creatures is obviously very useful, and there's potential for Shenanigans (TM) if Johnny find the right creatures :)
Thank you! I'm sort of worried it would encourage people to mana-screw themselves, though, I'm not sure if there's a compromise.
ROFL. I didn't notice Goblin Spikeshot was a reprint: I knew Goblin Elder, but I'd never seen that one. Yeah, that is too completely-by-chance adjacent reprints :)
You got two cards on Multiverse that are both reprints? Next will be a mash-up of two mash-up cards!
Awesome! I don't think this does exist, no. It's a bit reminiscent of Deconstruct and Turn to Dust, or... Seismic Spike, that's the bunny. I like it a lot, anyway. I want to find a way to make it monored, but red really doesn't get critters that tap for mana. A different card would be something like
, sorcery, 3 damage to target, add

to your mana pool.
Hmm, I like your alternate version even more. A couple of cards with that kind of mechanic and you'd end up with people avoiding playing lands beyond the third.
Yes, that is interesting. Quite a build-around-me. Could be uncommon, although rare's fine as well.
Yowiezowie. I love the idea of being able to do this multiple times in a turn. I'd definitely play this in a heartbeat in my Cerebral Vortex deck, probably even swapping it in for the Vortex itself. Fantastic after a Wheel and Deal or a Teferi's Puzzle Box trigger :)
This is even a step up on Dryad Sophisticate, the last card to have this ability. Was 3/1 even deliberate? And I'm not sure it's really accurate to say "blue needs strange evasion more"...
Mash-up of Fyndhorn Elves and Spikeshot Goblin.
This seems really obvious, but I don't remember it. Does it exist already? It's probably too good for three mana, but is multicoloured.
Mash-up of Rip Skin and Elvish Legionnaire.
I decided not to try to squeeze in convoke, but I think it helps contributes the cost-reduction concept to the mash-up. I'm not sure when this would be what you want in your deck: it's obviously ridiculously good if you get the bonus, but very meh otherwise. I guess in a black aggressive deck?
Maybe it should say "if you control three or fewer lands" instead of "third turn", so if you're mana screwed this can still help you?
Mash-up of ((C13330)) and Compulsive Enchanter.
The mash-up was obvious, but the result is quite interesting.
Mash-up of Nomad Decoy and Cerebral Vortex.
The mechanic from cerebral vortex is obvious. The nomad gives the cost, stats and creature-ness, plus the idea of doing it multiple times a turn.
It might be better to have two abilities "do this once" and "do this twice" to be more like the nomad, but I couldn't get it to fit nicely on the card.
Hm. Has anyone else notice that if you click on the "random gatherer card" link twice really quickly, you get the same card.
So, um, mash-up of Island and Island. OK, let me try this again and get a non-stupid place to start.
Oy! I would kill for a 3/1 with evasion for
in common. Any evasion will do. Actually, I'd draft the thing if it said "this creature can never be unblockable".
On a similar power-creep note: Have you seen Rakdos Cackler? Man, they sure gave Brian David-Marshall a lame card compared to the bomb they dropped in Dave Humphrey's article.
Artful dodge + Tearing Sands
Unblockability by... turning into a frog thing and dropping into a sewer. With flashback. And "Non basic lands go BOOM"
Blue needs strange evasion more; and this is just strictly worse than 'is unblockable', so why not?
Rather than the "tap any number of lands [you control]" wording, how about "search your library for a snow creature card, reveal it, and put it into your hand"? Or perhaps "search your library for a snow creature card, pay its mana cost, and put that card onto the battlefield"?
Ah... fiddlesticks. Added the power and toughness.
without a P/T how can it die? or even be on the battlefield? lol
Gatherer lied to me!
Anyway; Phyrexian Snowcrusher, Rimescale Dragon...
There's a buncha stuff that would mean this had to have CMC6+ to not have some kind of restriction.
Gargantuan Gorilla isn't actually snow.
Into the North + Sacrificial Pawn
Search for a snow land, and a sacrifice enabler / truly horrific infinite combo thingy / normally kinda just 'Mill a card: Regenerate'
Ok; gotta keep the snow part. Snow is too rare and lovely to ditch. Now, how about "When this dies, search a snow permanent into play?" without the "You can have any number of these" clause, the worst abuses are removed; and using it as a normal search card becomes sensible.
And I was going to say that the nastiest thing you could search out was a 3/3 flyer; and price it accordingly - but then Gargantuan Gorilla magilla'd his way to the front and demanded to be nerfed. (Ok, there's a few other bigguns too) So. Adding a CMC limit. UGLY WORDING. So it went rare. Oh, an d I missed the 'then shuffle your library'.
Imaginary rules team? Just tack that onto the definition of searching a library, would you?
