4/2 trample flying isn't great, because that looks a bit too good next to Flamedance Warden at 4/1 flying. Hmmm. I'd be fine with a 3/3 trample flying for 5 (you get less efficient than Assault Zeppelid because you have the option of manacycling), but 6 feels quite unpleasant.
Aha. Give this the 3/3 flying first strike stats from Loretower Warden. Then let Loretower Warden be a low-power high-toughness
creature, like Sanctum Plowbeast. Senate Jurist is 3/4, so Loretower Warden could be 1/5 or something, like Jelenn Sphinx.
...Except I don't really like a 3/3 flying first strike for

, because white has to supply both the flying and the first strike, not leaving much for green to do...
Taking the discussion over to Tel Eria Guardian.
As does Haste Lord which is sitting in the uncommon slot. I got to admit, though, that the Battledriver is a lot more reasonable than a 4/2 creature with haste when it enters the battlefield that grants In the Web of War's ability for the converted mana cost of Threaten. The uncommons in the skeleton didn't get much scrutiny. I'm pretty sure we just added them if we like the idea, but didn't toy with their costs.
Oh, wait. I think Haste Lord is supposed to be an enter the battlefield effect. Hmm, that's much more sane. I even think it can sit right next to Battledriver as a way to support a theme.
Reviewing the set, I notice Strider Harness Factory also mentions In the Web of War in its discussion thread. It may be too similar to this.
I guess we should make this 5 mana as well then.
use "distribute" wording
tidy templating slightly
use "distribute" wording
Wow, that's quite true.
This is an amusing parallel to Oloro, Ageless Ascetic's ability. And a stonkingly awesome combo with him.
And unsurprisingly, Wizards did something quite similar in their enchantment set, Theros. Chained to the Rocks is pushed for Constructed thanks to sharing Standard with Sacred Foundry and friends, but I think our approach here works fine too.
so it can
As per Jack's comment, this would now read "Exile target creature until ~ leaves the battlefield." Wizard's simplification of this wording means we could now more easily make temporary exile a theme, I think.
This has now been printed at

as Obzedat's Aid.
Holy cow. I recently "remade" this on accident in Anydria: Crumple.
We're fancy.
I know... isn't that funny? I mean, we deal with parallel design all the time, but it always seems odd when it happens.
Bond Beetle
The 0/1 version now printed exactly in M13 :)
That's almost sad.
I'm in the midst of making an all commons cube and this card would definitely make the cut. Red gets almost no good 2 cmc creatures at common =/
Oliphant.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oliphant
Though, a quick sum up of that page is: "Archaic spelling of elephant." J.R.R. Tolkien used this word exclusively in Two Towers, and the hobbits marvel at them, having never seen an oliphant. It works very well there, since it helps you feel like you're seeing an elephant for the first time as some strange, otherworldly monster.
"Oliphant"?
"dies"
There's been a couple of "Enchanted creature can't block", but, you're right... if it's not popping up in white, then it happens to be in red. That's probably too many steps removed. I did think of think of a different funny uncommon/rare, however:
The Wages of Slavery

Enchantment - Aura
Enchant Creature
You control enchanted creature. It is a 2/2 black Minion in addition to its other abilities and types.
