Mythic maybe!
@jackal hadn't thought of that. I'll try a different wording.
This is awesome! Can we make it mythic?
another
I like that you can get him killed to avoid paying the life. Not sure about the wording and intentions, if he dies do you loose access to the exiled cards or do they stay playable in exile forever?
spelling
grammar fix in flavor text
fix typo in name
Less optional Asura of Boundless Ambition.
Now with Menace!
fun in team games
See Speaker of the Unnatural.
Fair enough. It's still more conditional than Smothering Abomination
I think that part is going to need to be less optional to feel like dark confidant. With both him and Ad Nauseam I think the cmc thing is supposed to feel "risky" more than an actual indecator how much life the card is worth paying for.
Well the idea was to cross impulsive draw with dark confidant.
It could just specify nonland.
Seems fun. How do we feel about it being able to return lands for free? Is it important that it cares about cmc and isn't just a flat 2 or 3 life?
the flavor is that at first it just inspires acts of rebellion, but then it commands them
How often are people going to sac a creature for this? There isn't much that cares about creatures in the yard and this isn't the type of effect that you need early game so it seems like there will be something you don't mind exiling without trying. Could this be closer to one mana with "or exile 3 creature cards from your graveyard"?
I'd prefer the zhur-taa approach.
What is the coolest thing lost if this looks more like Zhur-Taa Druid
Good call on the not emptying instead of delayed generation. This functions a lot like something that taps for 2 mana but takes a turn to get up to speed. Is there any interest in finding something with a similar function without triggering on untap?
Never was standard legal or is legal in modern. I don't really consider them good precedents.
