The thing is that Buckshot feels like a common and that's where this cycle started. The cycle originally was pretty simple, but wording issues with cards not working properly forced us to change them all.
It's possible we should move this to uncommon, but then we have to change them to effects that are powerful enough to be uncommon.
It's true this is basically always unblockable, but I like the mirrored abilities even if they're a little cute.
Back when we had clockwork, the plan was to save the "clockwork on nonartifacts" for set two, maybe we should continue with that plan and scrap this until STEAM?
Then let's find one with a more fantasy ring to it than Elizabeth.
To be fair, Magic's also not above slightly changing real world names (cough heliod cough)
I think this used to be overpowered, so we nerfed it out of existence. I also think that even if this card was good, it wouldn't be fun.
That's true, perhaps we should change this?
Not when it's an X/X and not a 1/1
Does it need to be? I don't see a whole lot of value in changing it from being a simple reprint.
Fun fact, the steam powered version of this card isn't red. In fact, you CAN'T spend red to cast it.
Is that strong enough to warrant the cost?
Also, it should be Black Market Trader.
Because the majority of Demonic Tutor-esque effects are sorcery speed.
I'm fine with it as a Zombify on a stick. The extra black mana makes up for it a bit.
I think that Rust Elemental justifies this one since it's at least metallic. The other two elementals could be natural forces.
Yes either

or

The idea was clearly to avoid the problem that Invisible Stalker was.
I want to make this rare and give an extra combat phase.
There's been Totem-Guide Hartebeest, but this will heavily depend on the power of components in limited (cf. Steelshaper's Gift).
Does the set really need this and Eldaveth's Guard?
Small note: the flavor text should have quotation marks around it.
The ability to mill yourself for U is quite good. I like this card.
Does the set really need this and Mana Purification?
Is there any reason in particular for this to be a weird Mark of Eviction (which was uncommon)? I guess it lets the creature's controller keep it out if it has a static ability, but that seems like an odd corner case for a common.
I like this cycle as a twist on two-brid, but it is not common. It's way too weird to be showing up in lots of boosters for lots of new players to read and scratch their heads over.
This feels overly complex for a common. There's also very little reason for this to not just be unblockable all the time.
I have nothing constructive to add about this card. Steel Wall is just one of my favorite creatures ever. I know that makes no sense, but it is awesome to see it reprinted.
I love this card. Modular on a non-artifact creature is really cool. Should this twist on the mechanic be saved for a later set, though?
I second the use of Elizabeth, or just a more obscure real-world name. MTG has no qualms with using real-world names, so long as they have a fantasy ring to them (Elspeth, Chandra, Jace, Gideon, etc).
This card pretty much sums up my feelings about the two-brid cards; only the low-cost ones will see much play outside of their colors. That may not be a bad thing. This looks pretty bad even in color, though.
Tutoring of any kind (aside from basic lands) feels odd at common. No other card in the game tutors artifacts or equipment at common.
