upcost by 1, mainly to match cost of other cprots
Well yeah; it's intended as a Blood moon style hoser. It... may work with the shock-lands and pain lands? As in, you still get the "I got the colour I need" part, without the price? (Heck, City of Brass)
you don't get to choose what colour it is every time you use it... but you do get to remove the other downsides. So maybe useful to your own side if you build around it enough?
I'm trying to think of good lands you can combo this with on your side, but I'm kind of drawing a blank. You could pair it with lands that don't tap for mana, like Maze of Ith and Dark Depths... but then you'd lose their other abilities... so that was kind of like playing any other land. You could play it with lands that have ETB triggers... which is cute... but all the lands from Zendikar with an ETB trigger already added a colored mana... so again, that could have been any land at that rate. I think the lands this comboes with just haven't been printed yet...
"It can produce"
If you can find a basic forest that can produce red, go for it :)
Heck, if you can find a reason to make your forests produce only
, go for that, too :)
Nice. Although it also gets people out of colourscrew a bit more effectively than you might have intended. "Whenever a nonbasic land ETBs"?
Circle of solace + Plateau
Circle of protection: Dual Lands!
Resounding Wave + Outraged Citizens
Double unsummon cantrip, and... firebreath up to the number of creatures an opponent has.
Unsummon up to the number of creatures an opponent has? Hah.
Unsummon-breathing?
Ok - the core part of the multiverse card is "Do something up to..." While the core part of the real card is "Alternate casting high power mode"
Something like Æther Tide perhaps?
Hmm, Alexi, Zephyr Mage already exists; that knocks that idea on the head.
Ok; this is a bit off to one side; but let's go this way. And yeah; it's a firebreathing shark. Sure me.
Oh, I wouldn't want to see it tranform to Yawgmoth's Bargain. You're first instinct about power level is right, Vitenka. I just care about the subtlety of rarity in the same way that people argue about what color a card is. Ignore my ramblings. Sometimes, I'm just spinning wheels.
It's dangerous at the 1-to-1 ratio. See Necropotence and Yawgmoth's Bargain: two of the most powerful enchantments ever. It's never been a problem at 2-to-1 as on Greed.
I pretty much gave up on rarity power levels. Now I work on a simplistic "French vanilla? Common. Wall of text or nich? Rare. In the middle, uncommon"
I seem to get a lot fewer comments about rarity mistakes with that heuristic than with trying to actually figure it out.
And yeah; should probably be "remove 3 quest counters: ~ transforms..."
I was under the impression that card draw for life was kinda dangerous - but if it's not, it could be made more aggressive as 1-lfe-per-card?
Ha! Had this been Mashup: the Gathering, I would have been thrilled to see a vanilla creature and a blank card. The fact that you got Frost Ogre, making it two Vanillas in a row almost feels like a waste. ;)
So the quest counters just kind of hang around? Okay. It would be nice if they did something as an emblem, but... oh, well I suppose you could have had the second ability be the activation "Remove three quest counters from ~: La-de-da." That's fine. Assuming Vitenka shorthand, I like the card. Maybe it's uncommon? Maybe Greed without the
activation is rare, even if you have to jump through hoops to get it? Not sure.
it -> a player. And so it transforms and off to the commandzone it goes. I'm happy with that.
Emblems only exist in the Command Zone. Does this trigger when it deals damage or is dealt damage?
Rhox Brute + Momkurian, Stone Giant Wizard .. Um, that's got no text. Let's try Frost Ogre ... hmm, still vanilla.
Ok, last attempt. Card4691
Hmm. Ok; a rhino that draws cards in exchange for life.
You know; I think we'll go with a quest here. It's a seriously suitable reward.
And yes; I just had an enchantment creature turn into an emblem from the battlefield :)
So; hard to pull off (evasiveness helps) but a nice juicy reward. Reasonable?
I kinda liked that they can always swap back (as it's a colourless activation) and, after all, presumably you're running a sliver deck - so you're giving them the advantage of the mighty slivers :)
Must say; am surprised this one got a warm reception. It doesn't feel like I worked at it enough (I mean, I even forgot the P/T)
Awesome :D
Sure; you can have a power/toughness
Oh, that's a very good sliver ability... just when you thought all the relevant ability had already been taken.
2/2?
Armor Sliver + Swapsies
Mauauyaaha! Let madness reign!
Yep, that fixes that. Nice one.
This looks fine by way of cost (Canopy Spider +
), at least. Cf Sporecap Spider also.
(Um; it's not intended to trigger on itself entering. I don't think it does, but if it does, pretend I added wording to make it not do so... actually; that wording is easy, isn't it? Let's add it now.)
Skittering Skirge + Æther Flash
That's... a really natural mash. gives red a tripwire; and is also kinda reminiscent of Earthshaker. And, of course, if you can add some toughness and play with flash - live the dream :)
Filigree Fracture + Quillslinger Porcupine
Natularilse meets a green anti-flyer.
Let's go with a Tel-Jilad Archers variant. (possibly undercosted this, now)
Minor bug - frame/colour selection scripts don't appear to run when page is reloaded (form presumably already filled)
Actually; I hadn't realised the archers really existed until I went checking. They do seem to make this a more boring mash than I'd hoped. I'll do another one.
