Rhox Brute + Momkurian, Stone Giant Wizard .. Um, that's got no text. Let's try Frost Ogre ... hmm, still vanilla.

Ok, last attempt. Card4691

Hmm. Ok; a rhino that draws cards in exchange for life.

You know; I think we'll go with a quest here. It's a seriously suitable reward.

And yes; I just had an enchantment creature turn into an emblem from the battlefield :)

So; hard to pull off (evasiveness helps) but a nice juicy reward. Reasonable?

Emblems only exist in the Command Zone. Does this trigger when it deals damage or is dealt damage?

2012-11-23 22:04:26: Vitenka edited Rhox Seeker:

it -> a player. And so it transforms and off to the commandzone it goes. I'm happy with that.

Ha! Had this been Mashup: the Gathering, I would have been thrilled to see a vanilla creature and a blank card. The fact that you got Frost Ogre, making it two Vanillas in a row almost feels like a waste. ;)

So the quest counters just kind of hang around? Okay. It would be nice if they did something as an emblem, but... oh, well I suppose you could have had the second ability be the activation "Remove three quest counters from ~: La-de-da." That's fine. Assuming Vitenka shorthand, I like the card. Maybe it's uncommon? Maybe Greed without the {b} activation is rare, even if you have to jump through hoops to get it? Not sure.

I pretty much gave up on rarity power levels. Now I work on a simplistic "French vanilla? Common. Wall of text or nich? Rare. In the middle, uncommon"

I seem to get a lot fewer comments about rarity mistakes with that heuristic than with trying to actually figure it out.

And yeah; should probably be "remove 3 quest counters: ~ transforms..."

I was under the impression that card draw for life was kinda dangerous - but if it's not, it could be made more aggressive as 1-lfe-per-card?

It's dangerous at the 1-to-1 ratio. See Necropotence and Yawgmoth's Bargain: two of the most powerful enchantments ever. It's never been a problem at 2-to-1 as on Greed.

Oh, I wouldn't want to see it tranform to Yawgmoth's Bargain. You're first instinct about power level is right, Vitenka. I just care about the subtlety of rarity in the same way that people argue about what color a card is. Ignore my ramblings. Sometimes, I'm just spinning wheels.
