As well as Grim Affliction there's also Puncture Bolt and Puncture Blast. But this is fine nonetheless.
The insults used in MtG vary widely from plane to plane. Spiraling Duelist and a couple of white Mirran cards (eg Ardent Recruit) use the, um, memorable insult for Phyrexians of "rotters" :)
Shock + Crumbling Ashes
Huh. Destroy something weak and.. destroy something weak. (The latter working GREAT with treefolk assassins.)
Hmmm. Fevered Convulsions already exists. As does Grim Affliction. But there's no double-Scar. Let's go there.
I doubt "Blighters" is the word that would be used. What ARE M:tG swear-words like? I'm happy with the 'persist' pun, though.
Dunno, these guys can be big on opponents turns too, which has to be worth something.
Vitenka! Angry Mob thinks your numbers are off. I don't want to agree with the Angry Mob, but they're pointing some very sharp objects at me.
I'm going off the original style of wording from Keldon Warlord.
My templating is often wrong because I get stuff wrong. But in this case, it's because I'm mashing in an ancient ice age card and I wanted a callback to that era. (And because I like insane cards, it changes it's * every time it gets into combat)
(One of) my points was that you don't define the * anywhere on the card. Right now, it's a * / *+1 that gets +1/+1 for some number of Forests.
Gaia's Liege has some kind of precedent for the wording you're after. Well, the wording Wizards would use, at least; given this is Vitenka I imagine any divergence from standard templating is entirely deliberate :)
attacking / defending opponent
And yes, the stars aren't how it's done nowadays. So what?
That's not how the * notation is used, since it simply gets a pump. *s are used with CDAs only. I think what you want is "Whenever ~ attacks, it gets +1/+1 UEOT for each Forest the defending player controls. Whenever ~ blocks, it gets +1/+1 UEOT for each Forest the attacking player controls." That is, unless you want it to get the bonus for both your Forests and your opponent's Forests each combat, in which case it would just be easier (but more powerful in multiplayer) to say "At the beginning of each combat, ~ gets +1/+1 UEOT for each Forest on the battlefield." * notation is really inappropriate, since this only wants the bonus some of the time. I guess you could say "~'s power is equal to the number of Forests controlled by players who control creatures in combat and its toughness is equal to that number plus 1."
Lost Order of Jarkeld + Woodland Warrior
Creature that sizes up when opponent has a horde, creature who fetches trees, or powers them up.
Clearly, our knight is now lost in the woods.
Let's channel Withering Gaze (one of the few cards I can find that gets it s hate on depending on forests of an opponent) and make a black knight.
Of course; by the name this should have the 'wither' ability (and does not) and the old-style 1+* is mad nowadays - and the oddness if this gets blocked by two different players in some multiplayer environments...
But I kinda like it anyway. It's quirky.
About Viridis: it's designed to transform when it's destroyed, since it returns itself to the battlefield.
Rewards of Diversity + Viridis, Guardian of Nature
So, punish golden decks; and an expensive tree that sorta makes all trees and forests invulnerable, unless you cheat it into play - when it makes all trees and forests be 3/3 regenerating tree forests. So sometimes better, sometimes slightly worse.
You know what? I'm going to make a combo piece and let people do with it as the will.
Skirk Drill Sergeant + Bloodthirsty Pirate
2/1 red creatures. One fetches more goblins, the other is excessively cheap and attacks a lot.
Together, they fight crime.
Also, I misread "Skirk" as "Shark" and I'm rolling with that. Pirates perform looting, right?
Pestilence + Battle for Leader
One of the classics, and "Legendary creatures fight"! Which is nice.
Pestilence sweeps the board of small creatures. So would repeatable fight. But I think we'd better limit that somewhat. Instead of a trophy for winning, we'll have continual fighting exhaust your champion. and up-cost the activation. Horribly broken in the presence of things that eat -1/-1 tokens though.
FWIW, Scuttles gets back any dead Spirit of CMC 4 or less (though it's only back to hand). But anyway, this is hilarious. Wants to be printed in a set with, say, flanking, or similar.
Scuttling Death + Frenzied Boar
It's a cost 5 Reanimate (of cost 4 spirits, only) that also gives something -1/-1.
And a pig that... is bigger whenever you're having memory problems. (Ok, if you've used a bunch of utility creatures, I guess.)
Both are 4/2 for
. so that part's easy.
Ok, here's a silly idea. Don't think I've ever seen this trigger, but it seems a simple enough one. And less horrible than "If you have a spirit in your graveyard that's slightly less expensive than this one."
Thunder Wall + ((C22169))
A flying wall that breathes water, and a reachy spider that can be sniped to reveal hands.
Both uncommon creatures, costing

, both toughness 2. (U+G)/2=W so white it is.
And it lets me make a wonderful creature type. And use some very odd reminder text.)
And, come to think of it, may provide a nice angle of attack for Challenge # 077 - exhibiting creature creep through the subtlety of creature types :)
Plains + Overwhelming Horde
Shoot a creature, white shifted.
I could make it damage prevention I guess; but for 4 maan it would have to be better than "This creature is invulnerable"
But I kinda actually used the mechanic "Protector (has +0/+1 for each untapped creature you control) already on Hunting Hound so yeah, why not.
I didn't do it in enchantment or instant form. It'd make a pretty naff instant (Healing Salve but often worse) - so let's go for the enchantment form. Potentially scary with swap P/T stuff, I guess.
Flavour is naff, to suit the card.
Ooh, I like it.
Question Authority + Invader Parasite
So a Wheel of Fortune variant (what a fun way of saying 'mostly uncounterable') meets a land destruction dingus.
A pure upside one; albeit costly.
So how about a discard punisher creature? Or a slow-loot creature? I quite like that one.
Was also tempted to have "Whenever a player discards a card, they draw a card" but that way leads to instant insanity.
