Ah, twice the accumulation speed. (In theory.) Yes, that seems better. Still not /good/, but more printable.
on second thoughts; let's channel night and day.
Downcost. A lot.
Ah, but red is happy to forgo creatures for a while to build up to a bigass dragon. And it's channelling an emotion directly. (Where white would really prefer something a bit more structured)
It's overcosted, yeah - the flexibility that you don't decide the creature until it stops growing was my justification for that; but at that point if was Crusade. So yes, downcosting it severely makes sense.
"Avoid casting my spells" isn't very red. Red wants to cast all its spells as soon as possible.
Also, this is something like Momentum or Forced Adaptation but you don't get the benefit until you stop it growing. So it seems a bit weak.
Good point. I'd thought the generalised "must block" worked better with the pump ability, but now I can't see why, so it might as well have the more straightforward ability, which also seems more assassin-y :)
Although I don't know, is it too strong? Or maybe it should start as a 2/2, but pump by a smaller value you might be able to activate twice?
I think I'd prefer it if it had the Rampant Elephant / Trumpeting Armodon ability. It feels slightly more like targeted assassination that way.
Cease-Fire + Radiant Hope
Cantrip semi-Silence, and a really interesting little growth aura.
Well, clearly I've got a white non-creature card to make, that does something with creatures.
You know, I think we're due a return to Crusade.
I do like the "The enchantment goes away but the effect lingers" part of Radiant Hope; but I think I have to forgo that in exchange for a sane mana cost. (At this point, was 'all creatures have +1/+1 per...')
Or, hmm, maybe I should go the energy chamber route instead? Yeah, I think I like that better. Smaller, saner, still nifty.
Humm, this.. this isn't very white any more. If anything, it's red. (It's also artifacty, but given I looped in Energy Chamber that isn't a surprise.)
I... guess trampling them down in the street counts as assassination. The word is usually reserved for something a bit more targeted and subtle, such as firing missiles at someone's city from another continent; but I guess it works.
Dakmor Salvage + Balloon Scare
A tapped swamp you can choose to draw instead of a better card, and a kinda odd little creature kill. Holy heck, the crapswamp got a high rating? The explaanation? "Play it just 'cuz it has Dredge" Bah.
Mechanics: Weaken a creature, make a token, cast multiple times, mill. Flavour? Ok, balloon salvage? Dakmor scare? Scary swamp?
Eh; couldn't come up with anything good, went with echoing the cost of the first forever returning creature.
Mashup of ((C17260)) and Notorious Assassin
image, feeling silly
Biomechanoid Dragon + Boldwyr Intimidator
Huh, two red creatures that mess with blocking. One becomes angry and counter-attacks, the other imposes a hierarchy then shuffles people around in it.
Let's make "Cowards cannot block warriors" in to rules text, by making it reminder text here. and I just started making double-barelled creature types that I really liked, and didn't stop.
Attendant’s Arrival + Snow Fortress
All soldiers gain squires, and a snowball-flinging wall.
The obvious combination, then, is to start a big snowball fight. It's been 'un; but what the heck.
I can only presume so. Though mammoth's are green.
Oh. White elephant. Is that why elephants are white?
Yeah, wall destruction is red. As is goblin-style humour.
But I'm justifying it as a white elephant, because terrible puns are also red. Or something.
Oddly, I don't think this should be white. It seems quite red.
Yeah, couldn't do anything silly now, could I?
Though I did nearly go with "A wise man knows not to stand in front of an elephant; a wiser man knows to not to be in the presence of one at all."
Not Master Pastor?
Or Pasta Masta?
Sickly Pastor + Siege Mastodon
Well, there's a horrific name mash, just staring you in the face, daring me to make it.
So yeah, ok, let's do that.
Your father has no horns!
Your mother wears a bell!
You drink the milk of goats!
Well, since Shocking rotters isn't terribly effective; we'll ashbolt the blighters instead. Tally-ho old chap, time for tea!
