I'm thinking of changing the drawback to either "Pay 2 life for each" or "Sacrifice a permanent for each".
This currently scales in such a way that paying 7 life for Yawgmoth's Will is still probably a good deal.
Paying 14 life? Probably not something every deck would do.
Sacrificing permanents for such a thing would messy the wording a bit, but would also keep it more in line with something like Doomsday, which I believe is so niche that it'd be fair.
Right now, I'm looking at this and can't decide if this is just horribly complicated or way too subtle.
The idea is that the first ability means Deathtouch, except it also happens to mean "unblockable on certain boardstates".
Well, Cultural Exchange just targets players. Maybe I should be using that structure.
I suppose it's not necessary, but I'm sure there's some combo that only works if it doesn't specify controllers. I tried looking for precedents, but it seems all control-exchanging effects are between you and an opponent, never two players.
Reads kinda clunky. Should I bother specifying that the chosen permanents need to have different controllers? I mean, it's not like this does anything if you choose two permanents owned by the same person.
That's a good point...
It should probably say controllers, not owners, especially since those will stop correlating after this starts activating.
Yeah, used to be part of a cycle of incarnations, and this one was named Malice and had the ability "Pay 1 Life: Deal 1 damage to target creature."
I'm guessing this completely changed from its previous incarnation?
Part of the Grand Incarnation Revision.
Note: name is meant to be easily confused for Keening Banshee. It's a joke, and one that even makes some sense in conjunction with the ability.
Removing incarnation cycle because they made no sense with Delve + Enemy Duals.
Well, "fair" is not really my intent, but having the switched objects share a type would probably be appropriate.
Let it also be noted that this undercosted for the time being.
Would it be "fair" to be able to swap an excess land for an opponent's bomb or planeswalker? Or should it include "two permanents that share a type."?
Not sure if this wacky ability works, but I wanted something clearly different than Sway of Opinion and Beguiler of Wills.
For the time being, this is a strictly worse Magnetic Theft.
They can't all be winners.
Removed alternate cost, now that alternate costs are gonzo.
