Hm. Maybe it should be 0/2 and ": Untap target Island. : Target land becomes an island until end of turn."
Add a picture of a goblin setting light to the trunk of a tree, whilst sat in a branch of that tree and I think you've got a winner :)
Unless there's some cheap mana-makers in red I don't think this leads to too horrible an early turn.
I don't think it's too bad - you'd sacrifice your own mana acceleration in exchange for slowing your opponent down a bit (and, eventually, punching them in the face with a Sea Serpent.) I don't see that as being overpowered. Though maybe it shouldn't fly, despite the homage to Birds of Paradise you'd have to relinquish.
The blue member of the Llanowar Elves cycle. What's mana-acceraty, but feels blue?
Not sure if this is too versatile, it could easily just be "lands you control".
Inspired by Llanowar Elves, Elves of Deep Shadow, and Avacyn's Pilgrim I wondered what the final members of the Llanowar Elves "cycle" would look like.
R definitely wanted haste, but I wasn't sure how much disadvantage would counter that.
Ooh, d'oh. I intended people to be able to move cards out of any set they have editing privileges.
Dammit. Moved to the wrong place. Please delete.
Huh. Obviously my reasoning is a bit off :) I wonder why I didn't find it when I searched? Thanks.
Hmmmm. Interesting. I definitely do think of this effect as costing , although you get a benefit; e.g. Mind Stone or Everflowing Chalice. I don't think being free the turn you cast it is necessarily a problem. It certainly is plausible that this is printable, though.
This already exists as Heat Shimmer.
Half way between mark of mutiny and the recent cheaper clone effects in blue. It seems like an obvious space for red, although it may be too good under some circumstances (if there's a creature with an overwhelming comes-into-play effect, although there won't normally be on turn 2, and on turn 6 is the difference btween 1R and 2R really mattering?).
What's halfway between llanowar elves and a signet? Has this been made yet? It may be too good in that it's free the turn you cast it, yet comparable to memnite in that maybe the effect is simple enough to be free. Obviously useful in metalcraft/affinity decks. Not sure how good mana acceleration non-green should get... :)
increased cost
Made it not affect itself.
Rejigged it a bit
