It didn't really get reprinted. Just in Masters Edition which is "get all the weird old cards into MTGO" and in a From The Vault set which was "foils for the collectors and EDH players".
It's not been reprinted in an actual paper set with modern design principles, is what I'm saying.
Yeah, Maze of Ith ot reprinted, so we know it's allowed sometimes. This still feels a bit unsatisfying.
Maybe: "
:Add
to your mana pool, and put a +1/+1 counter on a legendary creature you spend this mana on" or something like that.
To be honest, I know the arguments, but I wish they made a few more lands that don't produce mana, since I like the stress they provide. But only a small sprinkle, though, because of... well... stress.
"isn't there a forest with a +1/+1 counter you can move onto a creature" - Yep, Llanowar Reborn.
This is actually very similar to Novijen, Heart of Progress, but removes the 2-mana cost to make up for also losing the ability to tap for colourless. Which is a big problem - this isn't really a land.
You can click the mouseover link to see the Oracle text. In this case the Oracle for Ogre Enforcer includes the pretty yucky phrase "lethal damage dealt by a single source is marked on it".

(fix typo) Not seen the enforcer. I guess the comp rules version of it would be something like "Damage to ~ wears off whenever you have priority."?
fix art
doing that (Also, darn, the cutesy fire elemental is mostly out of view)
Hilarious :D
Very nice. Sensible costing, interesting ability. Reminds me of Ogre Enforcer, but a lot nicer within the rules. Good one.

Mmm, good point.
My intention is "If you don't block, I'll give you a card. Go on, don't block"
But yeah, a bit good to put on an opponents creature if they can't pay red.
Obvious fixes: Make it a constant damage boost instead of fire breathing (+2/+0?) or make it "Enchant creature you control".
I prefer the latter of those; it combos interestingly with red's "Steal a creature for a turn" cards.
Is that last ability supposed to be Betrayal? Took me a second to realize that this was intentional.
reworded. Pictured.
"
: The next time a land is revealed..." doesn't read as bad, imo.
I'd rule it as firing when a card is added to the hand, it then becomes revealed.
Orochi is more of a problem, suggests this needs "you may pay
; if you do..." which is yuck.
How does this interact with Telepathy type effects?
Sasaya, Orochi Ascendant can repeatedly reveal cards from your hand for free.
You know, I think you're right. There hasn't been a Cprot: Tribal before. Good spot.
Ah, hm. I'd seen that problem on cards that could be cast at different times, but not realised it was what was causing my problem here. I could potentially make it "has hexproof during your turn" or "has shroud during combat" to get a similar effect.
I think my template isn't quite right -- I think it's ambiguous if the spell changes controller, the intent is obviously the original controller, but it shouldn't be countered if opponent casts sorcery and I gain control of it...
This has historically been a bit of a pain to template. The Oracle wording of Parapet, Necromancy and friends has been through a lot of iterations. It currently uses the phrase "case it any time a sorcery couldn't have been cast".
So this is pretty close. I might try
> ~ can't be the target of spells or abilities played any time their controller couldn't have cast a sorcery.
But looking at that, I think yours is actually cleaner...
If there was a nice way to template this, I'd be all for it, anyway. Intermediate-level hexproof is good.
Mashup of Dense Foliage and Determined Refactoring
OK, instant-shroud. I think there are some global effects that do this, but I can't remember if there's a creature. It seems like another possible intermediate-level hexproof, in that it's vulnerable to removal, but not to surprises.
Suggestions for correct templating?
