OK, instant-shroud. I think there are some global effects that do this, but I can't remember if there's a creature. It seems like another possible intermediate-level hexproof, in that it's vulnerable to removal, but not to surprises.

Suggestions for correct templating?

This has historically been a bit of a pain to template. The Oracle wording of Parapet, Necromancy and friends has been through a lot of iterations. It currently uses the phrase "case it any time a sorcery couldn't have been cast".

So this is pretty close. I might try

> ~ can't be the target of spells or abilities played any time their controller couldn't have cast a sorcery.

But looking at that, I think yours is actually cleaner...

If there was a nice way to template this, I'd be all for it, anyway. Intermediate-level hexproof is good.

Ah, hm. I'd seen that problem on cards that could be cast at different times, but not realised it was what was causing my problem here. I could potentially make it "has hexproof during your turn" or "has shroud during combat" to get a similar effect.

I think my template isn't quite right -- I think it's ambiguous if the spell changes controller, the intent is obviously the original controller, but it shouldn't be countered if opponent casts sorcery and I gain control of it...
