I don't think you're wrong since non-fossil tokens wouldn't be present during a fossil turn. I was just constantly using fossil in the text because I thought I was being as clear as possible.
Yeah; this could probably skip the first condition and be a straight bear + fossilised upside. (Either of the two clauses would do.)
Taken that way - yup, it's a decent demonstration of your mechanic. And finally a demonstration of how it's something more than "Play one game of magic. Now play a second game with a different set of cards". More fossils like this, please.
Oh; and I think you mean 'creature type' not 'type'. Since all fossile creatures will share the 'creature' type with this :)
So you have to jump through one hoop to get a bear and a second to grant it vigilance? Seems rather weak.
The two abilities caring about the graveyard in two different but similar ways seems unfortunate.
Heritage - are you conciously not using an ability word here?
I feel heritage reminder text should have reminder text again telling me whether I'm looking for fossil creature cards, or fossil Insects and/or fossil Warriors.
Well, it's always possible that you clearly communicated something you didn't intent. A good deal of time I look at custom cards I deal with people not knowing what the actual text they've written means.
And since having a major shadow-like gameplay situation doesn't seem like a particular gameplay one would want to that extent I wondered whether you actually considered this or maybe didn't take things into account and just wanted the active player restricted to their fossil permanents.
Sometimes a FAQ contains the question "Are you sure about XXX?" :)
I thought I made it clear that non-fossil permanents aren't considered existing during the fossil turns on the page for fossil turns.
"During a fossil turn, only fossil permanents on the battlefield are recognized. Permanents without the fossil supertype are not considered present. Similarly, only spells with the fossil supertype may be cast or otherwise used during the fossil turn. Only fossil lands may be played. Treat all cards on the battlefield without the fossil supertype as if they weren't in play during each player's fossil turn."
Weirdly the word "fossil" in there is just reminder text.
Question regarding how fossil turns work inspired by that interaction: If you attack a player during a fossil turn, can they block with any creature? Only fossil creatures? Do all fossil cards get a free dose of shadow when used against a deck outside the set?
I was just trying to come up with a name that fit the combat trick's flavor. In my head, I envisioned someone grabbing a weapon within reach after their eyes open wide from what figured would be some loud sound when I thought of the name.
Very cool flavor. Why is it restricted to creatures you control?
This is a weird though, but could it give +1/-1 instead? It's a bend obviously, but I think it would fit the flavor very well. Actually the most obvious issue with that would be that it would be so easy to miss that it grants +1/-1 instead of +1/+1. Maybe -1/-0 and double strike? You know, flailing around in panic. Hmm. Then I would also consider restricting it to tapped creatures and force blocking. Kind of starts to sound like a card that makes sense since cards with this kind of flavor are quite often of that color.
Non-fossil because I don't believe mold would likely find a home on fossilized remains.
So if a fossil instant already can only interact with fossil creatures, why the redundant wording?
Added that the creature that gets -2/-0 now also loses all abilities. Alternatively, I could drop that addition and reduce the cost to just GU.
Updated reminder text
reduced from 3u to 2u.

Unconditional bear, updated reminder text to reference creature type
So technically this doesn't need to say "fossil" since creature tokens that are not fossil don't exist?
I don't know whether writing it out is clearing up things or making things clearer.

Superfluous line break!

Maybe you wanna collect a FAQ somewhere. ^^
Interesting variant on scry-4. Seems legit.
Crocodilian, like the Viashino of Alara.
What are Viashino in a world of Raptor Warriors?
