This definitely represents the colors themes better.
That's true, the token is a minor thing added on.
Also the token feels barely like a part of the ability rather than a line randomly glued onto another card.
Removed from skeleton.
That's a fair point. We need something different here then.
The set has graveyard recursion in black, mainly for creatures. But so far it has no land recursion in green, which is the relevant color for that. Considering that we have 3 land destruction cards in 3 different colors at common, I figure green might want to have a way to get its lands back, especially with it caring about Discovery and all...
Fair enough to that. I'd still keep Adept Explorer if it's in conflict with this.
Did you guys read the suggested change? :P It's like you're responding to the card as is instead of what I actually suggested.
I like the card idea but it feels like a rare to me.
There's also the fact that its a tribal card, but thats besides the point.
Bitterblossom wasn't reprinted because for a long time it was banned in modern. Not because it was specifically too strong.
Agree, there is already Fade Away and a missing Instant Removal at UC plus all the Removal in Common, so there is no need for this card right now.
You're probably right about staying away from this kind of effect
Could go in the opposite direction of bolster, giving a creature with the highest power among your creatures a bonus. Would always benefit of +1/+1 counters.
I compare it to Graf Harvest, since it is the most recent token maker by exiling creatures from your graveyard. Don't think there is a might be too strong, this is definitely too strong. Let's refrain from making almost free token creator cards, especially in Uncommon. Bitterlossom wasn't reprinted for good reason.
I don't know, flickers are good and needed in Blue, but cheap transformer cards are just that, cheap. Sparker Planeswalker would love that card.
It would be a Rare as a Steel Overseer variant, definitely. Don't think that would be that good, cause it might stop being useful quite early.
Since we already have those types of cards I'd prefer something a little different for this slot.
He's not comparing it to Graf Harvest, he's saying if the creation was controlled then he'd make it more like that. This card is quite different.
This obviously draws parallels with Bitterblossom and although this costs more and needs you to have creatures in the graveyard to work it still might be too strong for a uncommon. I do like that it makes you want to play more aggressive to fuel it though.
We could have
's theme as Voltron? Kind of works with the +1/+1 counter theme in white, building up one huge creature. Opposite of the
archetype. Cards could care about having only one/two creatures.
The low toughness theme is interesting but your right that it doesnt really fit alongside other themes, making it hard to make cards that could be played in other archetypes.
Also, why is it for free? The upkeep trigger is detrimental, yes, but why should it make flying tokens for free, especially if you compare it to Graf Harvest? This is too strong, at 3 CMC you might already have a creature in any graveyard, and then you just start trading aggressively to fuel the graveyards.
Don't think we need that card, the set already has tons of graveyard recursion, and the green archetypes don't need that card.
That's pretty powerful for an Uncommon. If you compare it to Kinsbaile Borderguard, this might be more expensive and starts with 0/0, but it counts every creature.
I would keep it compulsory, but I'd probably make it only be able to exile your creatures, so that stuff that trades with the tokens doesnt just fuel this card more.
Another non white or black card that cares about enchantments. I'm pretty sure these are the leftovers from the first cards we made here when we still we're doing a enchantment DFC. It's just forcing a theme that isn't present in the other colors. The land is fine but the enchantment part has to go.
Think I prefer Adept Explorer
We defiantly cant make this at uncommon. I dont even think we can make Lightning Rift at uncommon.
I think I'd rather have something that could make more than just one token for the token maker.
Don't think I really like this, there are better ways we can implement cycling at uncommon.
Sunwind Glider already goes to the imprisoning well for a white DFC.
Fade Away is something similar at uncommon as well.
This could go for any type of permanent and use cmc rather than p/t though to cover another angle.
