ROFL. Sidewalk is awesome, I wish I'd seen it before :)
Hmm, good point; Forked-Branch Garami looks that way because they didn't want to clutter up the other Soulshift cards.
Heh. Evoking Prophecy now...
Argh. Hmm. I could see both ways. I'd be happy to let these be Plant creature tokens and make sure the green precon comes with enough creature tokens :)
DrJones's set Orobis has a fantastic keyword mechanic "sidewalk" which has reminder text as follows:
> Sidewalk (This creature can attack tapped or untapped. While this card is tapped, it can be blocked by and only by tapped creatures.)
So he thought "by and only by" would do.
V: "if and only if" is what I'd say and expect it to be unambiguous, but I'm not sure whether or not it would be clear to normal people :)
The only one I can think of, which tends to lean toward me is Chaosphere, but I admit, it's a poor example.
I repeat: "If and only if"
I think "can block only if tapped" would mean "can't block at all" to a logician, but imply "can block if tapped, but only then" to a normal person -- I'm not sure which usage magic follows (I'm trying to think of any examples. I agree they probably want to spell it out, but wish it needn't be that clunky).
Yes, I suppose that would be the simple white solution. Red, though, really would need "~ cannot block creatures if it is untapped, and can block creatures if it is tapped."
Can block iff it is tapped?
I think "being able to block despite X" is white, but "able to do X if you attacked" is red, so I think this version could be either (which is why I thought it was funny). I agree with your logic, but I'm not sure it really fits in white: if it has the "block only if" it doesn't feel very white (since when can white not block normally?) and if it has has "can block if", then it doesn't especially aid the red theme more than any other tap effect.
I agree the flavour works, but I don't know how much cross-color synergy we want to look for. So, um, I guess I don't know, either way would be fine with me :)
I agree "bud bud" is more fun and "bud 2" is probably more sensible. I'm not sure which is better, I'm happy with either for now.
Right now, I need another common creature that cares about number of tapped lands, and gives you value. If someone can come up with a better creature than this one, I'll add it. I like this guy (That's an odd type of kicker... we can really run with that) but the token creature thingy has been tough for me to process. I've mentioned before that token creatures should be fungus so that people don't feel like they have to put counters on tokens... except... well, that cuts down on the number of things that we can put tokens on. What do you guys think? Should this be a rotting tree that puts fungus tokens into play, or is it good as it is?
Originally cared about if forests had been tapped, now just looks to see if lands are tapped. I don't think anyone would have a problem with that.
Heh, yes. If you prefer, you could also call this "Aggro" in the same way that Akrasan Squire is... except it isn't. Ah, well... I don't think we can make this guy's stats better than this unless we were willing to add trample... and I wouldn't.
So, yeah. Aggro in the same sense that Storm Crow is aggro.
I mostly did it this way to get a reaction. I'm probably going to jump it back to Bud 2. The only problem with Bud 2, however, is it turns all our other cards into Bud 1... which is a bit annoying. Also, I kind of think "Bud bud bud" is fun to say, and it doesn't take up a lot of space. Hey! Anyone else have an opinion on this?
I didn't even think about the fact that those synergize so well. Awesome.

jmg: Hahaha! That's awesome!

"Aggro" in the same way Norwood Ranger is...
Feels like it should be "Bud 2" instead.
