This was something entirely different 29 minutes ago, so it's a work-in-progress (obviously). That said, I'm not sure outclassing Darksteel Myr is a significant sin. In context, the Myr had certain synergies with Metalcraft and Equipment that may have had Development wary of costing it too low. Of course, it turned out to be terrible, as Metalcraft basically sucked and poison made indestructible not such an issue.
Compared to Darksteel Brute and Darksteel Sentinel this is much more reasonable.
Much better than Darksteel Myr. Like, obscenely so.
Changed to permanent trigger; much cleaner and just as flavorful!
As there isn't significant data to judge what's reasonable for costing Delve cards, I'm definitely just winging it a bit.
For all common delve cards (Revoke Visa, Hollow Bones, Six Low Notes, Truffle Hog, and Pinning Gale) you're getting something that's slightly above the curve if you max out on Delve, but you have enough room that you can fit the cost to the status of your graveyard without feeling like the spell is overcosted. i.e. It only takes 2-delve to change Revoke Visa into Regress.
I think the big issue is where I've tacked on dramatic ETB effects to delve creatures, effects that are significantly above the curve if you max out on delve. Put this at like...

might be the reasonable thing to do... but that's also really goofy aesthetically.
That's true; it's probably best to leave this as a quote-unquote bad rare with potential "living the dream" scenarios, rather than concern myself with whether it's average function is playable.
This lets you drop Blightsteel Colossus off 4 land and an Ur-Golem's Eye, or drop Emrakul off 5 land and a Llanowar Elves, which Genesis Wave doesn't. Obviously that's Timmy-style living the dream, but I think it shows there's some potential fun to the effect.
The Melody effect is especially fun-looking, even though it often won't make much difference. Makes me want to ramp to this with Seething Song or some such.
Wowsers. I guess for Death Mutation mana, you deserve to get something splashy. I'm somewhat scared of the Delve option meaning this could be cast rather more cheaply though.
