Random Generator gave me Cryptic Annelid and Flaring Pain. This marks the 20th card that you can throw in your Worm Tribal deck (though, admittedly, sorceries like Feast of Worms and Wormfang and Wormwood creatures don't really count either.)
Eh, I don't know. I like this card and I don't at the same time... I can't seem to make up my mind about it. I guess its off to the reserves, if I ever need an Orzhov style mid-range black blocker.
Random Generator gave me Wave of Terror and Aladdin's Ring. I like what's going on here, but it may be too many words to parse for some players. I'm also a bit apprehensive about a card that says "Keep Wrathing the board". There are a couple of solutions for that which I came up with.
The problem with idea one is that you aren't letting people live the dream. You're telling them that you know what is best for their Magical games, and that you can't let them have all that fun. Besides, it's too easy to monkey with this creature (give him regeneration, perhaps?) and put us back in 'unlimited wrath' mode.
The problem with idea two is a bit stickier. The card already reads a bit clunky to me. If the numbers are raised to 2, or 3, does this card become even weirder in people's minds? Though, the more I think of upping to 3, the more I like it... it feels much more dramatic, and I can see two players wishing for/against another land popping up...
Glistening Oil, but more so. With extra token Auras, yay! I think I can probably see why Wizards haven't done token Auras so far, but there are lots of funky things they let you do, such as this.
Random Generator gave me Takklemaggot and Swamp. Swamp color shifts the Takklemaggot Black, and since the Takklemaggot is already black, it either makes it 'Blacker', or colorless. I aimed for making the effect more explosive.
Unfortunately, I had to ditch the second half of Takklemaggot's card, but that card had too much going on it in the first place. I suppose if I was designing early Magic cards as well, I wouldn't think to myslef "Hey, this card is doing, like, 5 unique things. Why not spread them out among 5 different cards over time, and sometimes mix and match the cards?" The Legends design team didn't have any reason to believe Magic would be around for over 3 years...
