I think it should be reordered as "Trigger, intervening-if, effect." I like how you subtly eliminated infinite combos that are present with Lifeline.
Multiverse Randomly generated Penumbra Essence designed by Darkheart, and Timely Reinforcements which is a reprint of Timely Reinforcements and a part of Camruth's M-Core set.
My first thought was to make a white instant that did roughly the same thing until end of turn. A sort of continuous Ghostway for the player with the fewest creatures. It kind of suffered from "Sacrifice a creature" combos, though and was unclear what it did when a player cast Wrath of God (Do I count the number of creatures I have when I cast the spell, or when a creature goes to the graveyard?).
It's funny, because I was dodging writing it out this way because it seemed much scarier to me as a designer. It's hard to remember, sometimes, that what is scary to a designer is exciting for a player. Besides, after reattaching the token/non-token thingy, it still only means double creatures. What I'm really afraid of is Lifeline, and this card is clearly not that.
Nice mashup. Fractionally better than Serra Angel, but minorly enough that I think it's fine on a rare.
Yeah, I'm probably picking up on "flag" and tagging an unnecessary article to it. Strange. Sometimes the mind picks up on a word and assumes it means something it does not. Up until a couple days ago, I thought "enigmatic" meant outgoing and personable. Turns out it means "puzzling"... like an enigma. Somehow puzzling became cryptic, cryptic things are engrossing, people that are engrossing have charisma, and charismatic people are outgoing. Or I made a straight jump to charismatic. Either way.
"Flag" certainly has that meaning, so yeah, you can stretch for the pun.
Oh... also, is it my imagination, or can the word "flagon" be used to describe "giving in". I'd prefer the hard rhyme instead of the soft rhyme... am I thinking of a homonym or something? Dictionary.com doesn't seem to agree with me.... what am I picking up on?
Multiverse Random Generator gave me Stealth Glider, designed by M Houlding, and another L2i0n0k7 design, Celestial Horseman. Two random cards and two made by Link... but I suppose that's not too weird. 50% of the cards on this system are probably made by 10 people. Just more weird for Link, I suppose. Oh, and if you're wondering what's going on, check out the notes for (((Weird Washer))).
I kind of flipped the flavor of Stealth Glider on it's head here. Now, instead of flying too low for your opponents creatures to block it, when this creature engages flying creatures, it climbs, and climbs and climbs, until the lack of atmosphere knocks the other creature out. Creatures with reach, like Spiders, however, continue to be unaffected, since they generally block by dragging the griffon to the ground somehow. I also tossed Protection from Black and Red... they make sense in Link's cycle, but you kind of want this creature to be blocked.
I always like fetchlands that can fetch two lands. Krosan Verge is about the only one we've seen. The restriction to Elves means this will sadly be very niche in usage, which is a pity, but it's certainly a reasonable card for that niche kind of deck.
Random Generator gave me Callow Jushi and Verdant Catacombs. This is my second attempt at mashing up the two cards. My first attempt, Krimson Kount got so messy that he got stripped down to only the things I liked about the card, and wasn't a true mashup... so I'm re-tackling this combination.
Originally, the first ability was a Terimorphic Expanse for Swamp and Forest only... but that was too many words, so I just cut back to colorless. Besides, I'm sure there would be plenty of unhappy players with one counter on this who were refusing to sacrifice it to get only one land, when they could have two if they just drew a damned Elf. Who needs the grief?
This is probably too strong. Maybe not. Not many elves you can play on round 1 that cost
...
Wow, Dude1818, you caught this card in a very small gap of about 15 minutes.
The quick answer is that it has nothing to do with Verdant Catacombs. I forgot, today, that I was supposed come back at this and make it a different card. Instead, I mysteriously made the card live in Alpha... probably because I just want more kobolds. It shouldn't be, though. I don't mind this card being tossed in if I feel like I need one more Kobold, but a card that isn't really a mashup shouldn't be what I'm building a set around. Sending it back.
The Savage Lands version came after the fetchland version. The kobolds are mostly popping up in those colors, so I added red. Again, I see a creature type and I force to Kobolds. Sometimes, that's a good idea... this time, the card that will be made is bound to be confusing enough. I don't need to be adding any new elements.
