The point of this cycle is to have hybrid activation costs. Removing it would kind of be counter productive.
I mean, this is gonna be an uncommon or rare if anything so I'm not really gonna pay much attention to it atm.
Merfolk Looter is too powerful to print nowadays. The three Standard looters are Jace, Zephyr Scribe, and Oracle of Dust. Note which one has no activation cost. This is perfect as-is.
I think we might be able to get by without the
on the looting ability. merfolk Looter isn't that strong.
I love that we kept the sky pirate flavor on this card. :)
A double "space" at the end of a line will create a line break and cut to the next line eg.
Blah

sorcery [common]
Blah
Blah
But if you double "enter" it'll create the lines between them eg
Blah

sorcery [common]

It could easily be kept with the new changes :

- "Add

to your mana pool. Steam-powered - If
was spent to cast ~, add

to your mana pool instead"
Does this wants to be Forceful Drain?
Sorcery - "You gain two life. Then, for each
spent to cast ~, remove a counter from target permanent and put a +1/+1 counter on target creature"
I vote for sorcery. Instant card filtering is really strong.
Past Enminty looks sweet!! And minty!! xD
(Raptor or anyone, how do you write your cards so that you do not have to put empty lines between the text?)

: Each opponent loses 1 life. You gain 1 life.

Search your library for a component card, reveal it, and put it into your hand. Then shuffle your library.
Steam-powered - Until the end of turn, component cost
less to cast and upgrade for each
spent to cast CARDNAME.
I agree with Legend's suggestion but I'm not sold on our current implementation of depletion.
We're looking for a "Prophet" cycle, so if we're using Deathfang Rattler over this then we gotta make a new Prophet card.
Fixed to be an artifact
With or without steampowered? Also I feel like we could use it in place of Midnight Thopting but not in addition to.
I don't really see any flavor problems here. We've never talked about Archester not having zombies the same way we did about Angels and Demons.
Either way it looks like this is getting eschewed in favor of Gremlins anyway.
@Visitor: I'm sure the
PR people would refer to it as "pure".
Reworded to match with (old) precedents
This card is now outdated, but I updated the
wording anyway
Could remove counters, which would then replace the current common counter removal card in black. Also we potentially want to make this a sorcery to allow for Contemplate to also become a sorcery.
We can make it a sorcery if the Black one changes and also becomes a sorcery in the process.
@Raptor: We are not slaves to the skeleton. That card is where it is because of cycles. The 10 slot is the buckshot cycle so we can't push Patriot Agenda to 11, but moving that card up would do just that (or split the creature section in two). Additionally, every color has 3 creature and 2 non-creature hybrids, all correctly positioned. Plus, its not going to replace one of the existing hybrid creature slots since that token producing card is what allows white to hit its creature count anyway.
I think we should move this one to sorcery, even though it'll break the cycle a little bit.
If I had to choose between this and Deathfang Rattler, I think Deathfang is the more interesting design. If we want to speed the format up, DF is our man (err... snake... w/e :p) this'll favor more control-y decks and slow the format further.
Edit: here's Deathfang Rattler c&p'ed from Ghoul Overseer:
Deathfang Rattler

Creature - Snake [Common]
Deathtouch
Prevent all damage ~ would deal to Artifact Creatures.
2/2
I agree with you on the toughness front, I think it'd be fine as a bear (2/2).
If this does get shifted to green in favor of Corrupted Earth, it should change to something similar to bramblecrush variant and moved to uncommon. Green shouldn't get common LD, at least not one with card advantage. My suggestion is...
Past Enminty

sorcery [Uncommon]
Return a land from your graveyard to your hand then choose one of the following:
• Destory target Artifact.
• Destory target Enchantment.
• Destroy target Land.
coolness
Needs to be an artifact creature, other than that it looks fine.
This is going to need a rework with the changes to Steampowered. Anyone have any ideas?
