Abyssal Hunter, Midnight Charm, and Rathi Trapper are this card's B precedents. How about something both simpler and in color?

Remove a counter from target permanent. If BB was spent to cast ~, remove all counters from that permanent instead.

Removing a counter is much less active than the other cards in the cycle, and risks being too situational. It could fit the card, but the card would need another more active component.

Ex current template : Remove a counter from target creature. That creature gets -1/-1 for each {b} spent to cast ~

Ex Legend's template : Remove a counter from target creature. If {b}{b} was spent to cast ~, that creature gets -2/-2 until end of turn.

Could remove counters, which would then replace the current common counter removal card in black. Also we potentially want to make this a sorcery to allow for Contemplate to also become a sorcery.

Does this wants to be Forceful Drain?

Sorcery - "You gain two life. Then, for each {b} spent to cast ~, remove a counter from target permanent and put a +1/+1 counter on target creature"
