Design up to three Transform cards that start as one type of permanent and transform into a totally different type of permanent (they don't all have to be the same start/transformed type)

2012-02-23 10:35:27: Camruth created the card Challenge # 030

As an example this is a card I created Dormant Protector.

Created Librarian's Aid and Stalwart Druid. I think three is too many - there won't be any good ideas left by the time a couple of people are done, without copying ideas that dude1818 used in his entire set of DFCs Mirroria. So I won't make a third just now, but I might come back and add some more in a couple of days.

Rampant Bears, Diffuse Essence. And oops, sorry, I got carried away and made Equatorial River even though it's a normal DFC.

ETA: Also Imprisoning Blade

I was just thinking about making a challenge, but you beat me! I'm also only going to make two cards, Soul Tether and Evaler, Priest of Alethe.

Yeah - why three? Most of the other multi-card challenegs has some kind of tie-in between the cards; this is just "Do this thing. Uh, do it thrice!"

So in protest, I submit only Mora, Mare

Speaking of Mirroria, would anyone object if I borrowed their ideas? I would link to your original idea.

I went with three to allow for a lot of variety, I have now changed it to "up to three" following your feedback.

Added Ajani's Summons, Noble Grove and Damned Soul. I'm always honored when my cards are 'reprinted' Dude, so steal away.

Okay, looks like there is plenty of space here after all :) I came back and created Blade of Vengeance... and then Nebulous Rage.

Alex's Blade of Vengeance got my gears turning, and I failed to complete the prerequisites of the challenge with Noble Grove anyway. So, one more: Thrice Cursed Axe.

Hi, I'm new here. Can I get some advice for starting out?

Sure, ttt3142, but that kind of depends on what you want to get out of the site.

If you're looking to just casually make a few cards, you can add them to Cards With No Home.
If you want to make goofy joke cards you can add them to Silver Bordered and/or Joke Cards.

If you want to join in on the Multiverse Design Challenge... it's casual and open. Challenges are created irregularly, but we still have a card/thread that stops us from throwing too many challenges up simultaneously. You're more than welcome to add your submissions to any of the challenges. Feel free to either start from the beginning, or do this one and work backwards... whatever floats your boat.

When you do complete a challenge, you're going to want other people to notice it, so they get a chance to respond to your work. On that Challenge's page (like this one, for Challenge #30), Add a comment, and link to your card by writing in the card name exactly and surrounding it with three sets of parenthesis. If you click on "Formatting Help" above the "Add Your Comments" Field, there's some more tips on linking stuff.

Welcome to the site, by the way. And thank you for pointing out something that we could use... a general walkthrough of the site on the main page. Alex?

ttt3142: Welcome! I'm the admin of this site, and hope you enjoy yourself here. If you want to create a card in one of the cardsets jmgariepy linked, click "New card" in the box at the top of any cardset page or at the top of any design challenge page.

jmgariepy: Well, there is a link to "About Multiverse" at the bottom of every page, and also via the "Find out more" link near the top of the very front page. But I agree that About page itself could do with some expansion. Your suggestions are excellent material for adding to the About page, jmg - thanks.

Here's my first card: Mystical Island And second: Nuclear Explosion

Got a couple. Themed them around two-word phrases.

Stick Stick bad, carrot good.

Bread Bread means something which is a staple (French Vanilla green 2/2s) and butter is the good stuff that you get on top of the bread (Though I don't want butter in my coffee, thanks).

Another:

Late

I've heard that the front side is better, but personally I like the back. Also I just kind of ignored the rules and ran with this one, the only important thing is that you can Grok it, all of this stuff will probably never see print.
