Took out the activated ability since it was overkill, awkward, and took up space.
Haha! This is a better take on the "copy something random" idea - a more sensible interpretation than Sphinx of Addled Whims. Awesome.
Yeah, there has to be something like this. I also like the "creature or planeswalker" approach, because it's still splashy to be able to copy planeswalkers, but it's less niche, when a "copy planeswalker" spell might rarely work.
And also, I think it's odd to have a non-mythic planeswalker card, IIRC wizards avoid that for flavour reasons, and if it copied creatures as well, it might seem less of an exception.
Mm, yes, the Hero's Downfall idea of cloning either a creature or a planeswalker is much likely to be printed.
personally i don't have an issue with a card being that narrow at rare. i agree that it's only going to shine in certain archetypes, but with everyone clamoring to make superfriends decks a card like this could easily find a home. as long as it has a home i think it's fine, although there's certainly nothing wrong with adding your suggestion.
I'm not sure. In theory, it seems neat, but
isn't the most attractive cost for another copy of one of your planeswalkers, not to mention you need to have it at the perfect moment. Copying opponent's planeswalkers is much more powerful but much more narrow.
I'd give it the Hero's Downfall treatment and make it copy either a creature or a planeswalker.

There is Imnamon, Copycat, though of course that's not actually Sakashima.
Hee. Yes, I'd expect this to be printed sooner or later, either in mono-blue or green-blue. Phyrexian Metamorph already started things off (by combining Clone and Sculpting Steel); I'm sure it's only a matter of time before we get all the way to include Copy Enchantment and Vesuva as well.
(The ability to clone Planeswalkers might be a little problematic... but then again, Sakashima Ascended is probably printable, so this may be fine.)
Very fun.
Two other problems I have with those planes are 1. They no longer exist in the story and 2. All 3 of them are artificial planes. I could see
as "Soul of Old Phyrexia," but then there wouldn't be room for Alara.
I initially chose
for Alara because I felt it represented the diversity of the plane.
Problem with that plan is that, as Urza block storyline locations, they're very monocoloured: Serra's Realm is white, Phyrexia is black. Rath I'd initially say was mono-red, but I could see there being some subtleties to give you some wiggle room there.
I'll think about that. Swapping Tarkir and Kamigawa sounds like a good idea. I also think
feels right for Ulgrotha, what with the Autumn Willow and An-Havva.
As for Alara, it definitely feels out of place. I wanted to make it
because of Knight of the Reluquary and Knight of New Alara, but that spot was taken up by Llorwyn. Also, there are only so many planes to choose from that have shown up in printed sets. I had to use both Llorwyn and Shadowmoor, and even include Fiora and Tarkir. Otherwise, I would have had to use planes like Azoria and Equilor.
If you have any suggestions for another plane I could use, I'm all ears. Serra, Rath, and Old Phyrexia are all gone now, but I might use one of them if I have to...

Trying to pin Alara down to any two colours seems hard. It feels like green and/or blue should be among them, but it may be that any two-colour Soul of Alara would feel wrong.
Tarkir we don't know much about yet, but as a plane themed around dragons it has to be
. Mono-red could work, but if not then I might go for 
.
Kamigawa feels like
should be one of its colours, with the war being between the gods (divinity has 
flavour) and Konda, Lord of Eiganjo. I could see 
for Kamigawa actually.
