An additional "soul" card for a plane that went unmentioned in the original cycle. If anyone has suggestions about flavor and/or power level, please let me know! I want to make this card as cool and balanced as I can.

I figured indestructible and tutoring fit well enough into all five colors to warrant their inclusion as abilities. Plus, the universal tutoring is appropriate for Dominaria, as it touches almost every other plane in the Multiverse.

Note: Sice I'm making souls for the various 2-color combinations now, I thought I'd take this opportunity to list the planes for each combination. Feel free to debate or offer suggestions.

  • {w}{u}: Fiora
  • {u}{b}: Mercadia
  • {b}{r}: Shadowmoor
  • {r}{g}: Kamigawa
  • {g}{w}: Llorwyn
  • {w}{b}: Alara
  • {u}{r}: Rabiah
  • {b}{g}: Ulgrotha
  • {r}{w}: Tarkir
  • {g}{u}: Segovia

{g}{w} for Lorwyn is spot on.
Rabiah as {r}{x} is clearly right; {r}{u} seems fairly plausible, though I'd also consider {r}{w}.
Ulgrotha as {b}{x} is right; don't know about the specific {x}.

Trying to pin Alara down to any two colours seems hard. It feels like green and/or blue should be among them, but it may be that any two-colour Soul of Alara would feel wrong.

Tarkir we don't know much about yet, but as a plane themed around dragons it has to be {r}{x}. Mono-red could work, but if not then I might go for {r}{g}.

Kamigawa feels like {w} should be one of its colours, with the war being between the gods (divinity has {w} flavour) and Konda, Lord of Eiganjo. I could see {w}{b} for Kamigawa actually.

I'll think about that. Swapping Tarkir and Kamigawa sounds like a good idea. I also think {g} feels right for Ulgrotha, what with the Autumn Willow and An-Havva.

As for Alara, it definitely feels out of place. I wanted to make it {g}{w} because of Knight of the Reluquary and Knight of New Alara, but that spot was taken up by Llorwyn. Also, there are only so many planes to choose from that have shown up in printed sets. I had to use both Llorwyn and Shadowmoor, and even include Fiora and Tarkir. Otherwise, I would have had to use planes like Azoria and Equilor.

If you have any suggestions for another plane I could use, I'm all ears. Serra, Rath, and Old Phyrexia are all gone now, but I might use one of them if I have to...

EDIT: I've moved the custom soul cards to their own set, Souls of the Multiverse. You can see and comment on them there.

Problem with that plan is that, as Urza block storyline locations, they're very monocoloured: Serra's Realm is white, Phyrexia is black. Rath I'd initially say was mono-red, but I could see there being some subtleties to give you some wiggle room there.

Two other problems I have with those planes are 1. They no longer exist in the story and 2. All 3 of them are artificial planes. I could see {b}{w} as "Soul of Old Phyrexia," but then there wouldn't be room for Alara.

I initially chose {b}{w} for Alara because I felt it represented the diversity of the plane.
