Black was doing this in Planar Chaos, so you've at least some level of precedence going on. Oddly, that would make this card very close to the card Melancholy. Well, that and Arrest technically.
Huh, so it does, albeit as reminder text. Personally, I think messing with the stack is rife territory, but Wizards, in general, doesn't like to go there because a very large number of players don't even know the stack exists. At least that's what the judges kept saying throughout the Great Designer Search 1 and 2. Any submission that talked about the stack got an immediate "This card fails" hammer.
ok, changed to pay 1 life, b, t:
"
,
, Pay 1 life" would work, yes.
I do like this ability a lot as well. I especially like that if there's something too big for him to defeat right now, he can whittle it down over the course of a couple of turns, then eat it at the end.
Well, I guess you could be using it as a hose card in white?
+3/+0, flying and drawback? Might be ok, I guess?
gains flying and +1/+0 instead then?
Thanks ^_^
Took me a long, long time to find a combination of abilities, power/toughnes and cost that would do the Baron justice.
I play EDH, lol.
Hmmm...I guess I'll have to pick one of them and change the other...
I wanted it to be part of the cost, somehow. Maybe I should just change it to life loss?
Sundial of the Infinite, a recent card mentions the stack.
The flavor behind this card is that the darkness is so perfect, so terrifying, that the planeswalker/wizard (player) can't even begin to cope with it on a mental level. Even evil sees the abyss and has to fear it. living minds are just frozen with fear and unable to act from the darkness.
I could change it to an enchantment, its slightly out of color pie mechanic, but with the name it fits into flavor.
He's a corrupted spirit of the paladin...under the direct control of Baron Sengir. So he does whatever the baron commands him to do.
hmmm, I like hosing boros...
removed etb tap.
For now, I'll keep it as a 0/2. Id say it would be a 1/2 or a 0/3 as an uncommon with a slight ability change.
Huh. I like that ability, though I think that dealing one damage should probably be after the colon. Good job.
Huh. So there are two cards that turn my creatures into vampires, but only mythics and rares that interact with vampires? But there's a number of white cards that can hose vampires and black creatures? Why would I ever want to do this? This card, right now, is a weaker Unholy Strength with a bonus drawback.
This card is a pretty good modern vampire lord. Well done.
Note: It doesn't make much sense to have this and (((Overwhelming Darkness))) in the same set. Sure, they're different cards, but they waste a valuable slot. I suppose players could play both... but why would you want them to?
For what it's worth, Wizards never talks about the stack on the cards. I only mention that in way of passing, though, now that I think about it, what's wrong with just adding black mana to the mana pool equal to the number of creatures killed?
That ability would cost
normally in 1995. Meanwhile, most players would compare this card to Dark Banishing and declare it terrible. Power level has gone up over the past 15 years, but not creature destruction. It's about at the same level.
I find it funny that this has a drawback when Zombie Goliath has none, and Hyalopterous Lemure has a bonus ability. But I got to admit, that in the world of 0/2 creatures for
this is fair.
Ihsan makes 1/1 black shades? Okay, I guess. I always assumed that Ihsan didn't like working for the Baron, he was just forced into service. Seems odd that he'd actively be making more evil, but maybe I'm off.
Unhinge? I guess you technically have instant speed on the card. Maybe Dimir will like that?
