Agreed. The card seriously jumped in playability.
Yay for revisiting the Masako the Humorless ability.
Everyone likes it when "indestructible" is included somewhere in a set.
Hmmm, how about 3/6?
Hmm, good point. I'll fix that issue up. As for this card...hmm.
removed the part about black creatures.
I guess I could make it a 3/2, it does have first strike.
Changed it to +4, thanks for pointing out shield mate exists jmpariepy!
I feel like Aura Blast is just some what bad, even for a set like this.
needs a better name, but the idea is that a creature killed by the knights of this...order/group have their souls "purified" (to borrow the term from anime,) and can't be resurrected (easily.)
Hmm... Fixing...
For the record, this would be the 9th white card that either harshes on black, or vampires. To me, 3 cards would have been excessive, but might have gotten a point across. Nine just seems silly. For comparison's sake, Homelands only had 3 white anti-black cards: Death Speakers, Rashka the Slayer and Serra Inquisitor.
'Indestructible' is an odd word for this set. I'm not sure how I feel about it. I don't really have a problem with the idea if that's what was needed to get the job done... but I almost feel like this card should prevent all damage or something. Ah well. I guess that's a personal taste issue.
Personally, I'd bump this to a 4/5 to help make up the difference. But I guess it doesn't really need it. Odd power level problem is odd. This card is clearly much too powerful for common, but is very underwhelming at uncommon. Strange that.
So... when I block, I make my creatures worse? Because that's mostly what I read when I see this card... I'd rather not have it on the battlefield in the first place. I definitely would not like to dedicate a slot to it.
I'm pretty aware that that's not how the card works, and that there are plenty of match-ups and decks where this card is great. As far as first impressions go, though, this card is kind of poopy. Maybe the bonus should be greater and the card more expensive? It would also give players a reason to build around this card... you know... because you could always just play Crusade instead.
Oh, also, I'm just going through your white cards today, but what's with all the black hate? White doesn't hate red ever? Because I think I've seen four anti-white black cards so far, but Hazduur seems to be cool with Joven and Chandler hanging around the abbey.
Um wow; this is strictly worse than Healing Salve. You'd get a lot of hate, methinks.
(Ok, it's not quite strictly worse; P/T inversion exists, which gives this an interesting corner case. But still.)
Surprisingly good compared to the rest of the set... or Thunder Spirit for that matter. I know you're looking forward to draft more, but if this card appeared in constructed, in would overshadow all the other white cards.
I feel kind of wrong for wanting WotC to print this 'bad' spell. It would be nice, though, I assume Shield Mate's +0/+4 is a more likely number.
Hey! Reprint from Odyssey coming through!
It's a good choice, but if you're already doing a non-Homelands reprint, may I instead suggest Aura Blast? You know... because Daria is a character for Homelands, but she's mysteriously showed up in Planeshift for some reason.
I know the power level of this set is low, but I got to admit this is pretty unexciting. I don't expect this card to suddenly be as good as Celestial Crusader or Wizened Cenn, but, failing that, it should at least be quirky. A card like this just invites poor comparisons. Maybe we can give Knights the Order of Leitbur activated abilities? that is, assuming you aren't using them somewhere else?
More flexible, but also more painful Talisman of Impulse? Nice. I'd certainly want lots of them, but probably wouldn't put them in every deck.
Still looking for more willing eyes to critique the set.
Ok, I've updated the last couple of cards with issues, let me know what you all think.
(also, thanks for taking a look at giving me your input.)
