Huh. I like that ability, though I think that dealing one damage should probably be after the colon. Good job.

I wanted it to be part of the cost, somehow. Maybe I should just change it to life loss?

"{b}, {t}, Pay 1 life" would work, yes.

I do like this ability a lot as well. I especially like that if there's something too big for him to defeat right now, he can whittle it down over the course of a couple of turns, then eat it at the end.

...For what it's worth, it's more correct to put all the symbols (mana and tap) before other text like "Pay 1 life". Like I did. See examples like Dreamscape Artist or Trading Post.
