Per suggestion.
hmm, I like Bring the Rage, and I think I'm going to modify it just a smidgen :D I have an idea.
Well, I was going to suggest...
Minotaur Disco Party
Instant
: Put a Minotaur from your hand onto the battlefield."
Each Minotaur gains first strike and "
But then I realized that many Minotaurs have haste, and that wouldn't go over well...
So how about:
Bring the Rage

Instant
All creatures target player controls gets +1/-1.
That should fill a common role nicely. Plus between Dry Spell, Evaporate and Winter Sky, Homelands had a big thing for Tremor effects.
Comon boys, and girls. Fill in this card for me!
Been a bit since I was last here, got busy with school and life. Still looking for replacements for the cards I removed, if anyone has any ideas they would like to put forward, I'm all ears. (and eyes)
pro sor/ins it is then.
Yeah, to get much cheaper even on a wall you have to have another drawback, like Cinder Wall. (Which incidentally is hilarious to use with Rolling Stones, because it doesn't say anything about attacking.)
Annoyingly; also a blue-like ability; though as being kinda blue-hate I can see it.
Heck it's a wall; so giving it flat out prot-blue isn't accidentally also giving it evasion.
Was also gonna comment that it seemed pricey for a wall of its size; but Ogre Sentry reassures me that power on a wall is pricey; and there's various "Wall with other ability" about this size at cost; so I guess I learned something.
what if I give it "protection from instants and sorceries"? fits the fantasy dwarf theme a bit better then shroud; without being that annoying.
To link to cards in this cardset: surround the card name in (((triple round parentheses))), like this: Drunkien Thunderdrummer. Or to protect against future name changes, find the card's ID from the URL (23193 in this case), and put triple round parentheses round "C" followed by that number: so
(
(
(C23193)
)
)
turns into Drunkien Thunderdrummer.Yes, this is tidier and cleaner this way.
See my recent comment on Durnkien thunderhammer (or whatever my dwarf legend is named) in regards to that.
Thanks.
How does that wording look (and I took out the EOT trigger - for now.
Hmm, good points. I think I will reword it like that.
I liked Kamigawa too :D
Now that I notice just how vulnerable to removal he is...maybe I could add a sub-theme for dwarfs in this set to have protection from instants and sorceries? dwarves in other popular fantasy settings often have resistance to magic; or are just very thick skinned to it.
If you did, I'd give this card +X/+0. That's pretty strong for its casting cost, now that I think about it... but the card dies to Doom Blade and you need four artifacts before this starts to get really good, so I think we're fine either way.
Man... creatures used to be eaiser to cost when they weren't monkeying with the numbers. Still I'd rather have pushing the envelope than a 6/6 for 8 with a drawback. I guess everyone's got their own ideal power level. I kind of liked Kamigawa.
My comment didn't really have anything to do with power level, so much as complexity of the card. Swingy rares could always be more expensive.
But let's assume this card is going to stay Mythic. I feel your trying a bit hard to be clever with 'comes into play tapped and attacking' when the simpler thing to do would be to say "Put two 2/2 red Minotaur creature tokens with haste into play. If you cast this spell during your main phase, instead put three 2/2 red Minotaur creature toknes into play." like Sulfurous Blast reads.
I think I'd also separate the
ability, since it chunks up the first line of text, and really, happens at another time.
Of note: You can play this spell after end of turn triggers on your opponents turn, then cast another one during your turn to get 5 attacking minotaurs with 4 lands. Rough. Possibly legit. Don't know.
Yeah, I like this card. Kind of reminds me of Slith Firewalker for some reason. Nice switch out.
Red does have its own form of 'punisher shroud' that's popped up on cards now and again. Howabout "Whenever a player targets ~, that player sacrifices a land."? You might get away with a 3/3 as well, since that's a light rider.
ok then 2 and may 2 it is.
Well, it's reminiscent of Arc Trail, which was very good as an uncommon sorcery at
. This is more damage but it's rarer and colour-intensive, so it's allowed to be pretty good.
This would likely get played in constructed decks, but that's fine - some cards have to, after all ;)
Well, the big benefit this has over Tears of Rage (use triple square brackets to make a link to a printed card) is that it does something without having to sac all your attackers. Namely, it gives them +2/+0 when they're blocked. On its own that's less good than some cards (Nobilis of War, Sword of the Paruns, Patron of the Akki) but it's just 4 mana, and it has the other option for the unusual occasions when you'll need it.
hmmm...Blue isn't the enemy in this block; its more neutral then anything else. the Wizard's school sort of stays out of the "politics", that is until the Baron completely corrupts them and sends them a wrecking...
Is 2 x 2 damage fair at RR? for instant?
ok then.
Thanks, hope it makes the card better then. It was being compared to Tears of Rage, so I hope it is at least on par now.
