Cease-Fire + Radiant Hope

Cantrip semi-Silence, and a really interesting little growth aura.

Well, clearly I've got a white non-creature card to make, that does something with creatures.

You know, I think we're due a return to Crusade.

I do like the "The enchantment goes away but the effect lingers" part of Radiant Hope; but I think I have to forgo that in exchange for a sane mana cost. (At this point, was 'all creatures have +1/+1 per...')

Or, hmm, maybe I should go the energy chamber route instead? Yeah, I think I like that better. Smaller, saner, still nifty.

Humm, this.. this isn't very white any more. If anything, it's red. (It's also artifacty, but given I looped in Energy Chamber that isn't a surprise.)

"Avoid casting my spells" isn't very red. Red wants to cast all its spells as soon as possible.

Also, this is something like Momentum or Forced Adaptation but you don't get the benefit until you stop it growing. So it seems a bit weak.

Ah, but red is happy to forgo creatures for a while to build up to a bigass dragon. And it's channelling an emotion directly. (Where white would really prefer something a bit more structured)

It's overcosted, yeah - the flexibility that you don't decide the creature until it stops growing was my justification for that; but at that point if was Crusade. So yes, downcosting it severely makes sense.

Downcost. A lot.

on second thoughts; let's channel night and day.

Ah, twice the accumulation speed. (In theory.) Yes, that seems better. Still not /good/, but more printable.

When I first read it, I misread it as "at the end of your turn, if you cast no creature this turn, put a +1/+1 counter on a creature you control", and I quite liked that version, although I don't know if it fits the mashup.

That was certainly a wording I considered. This version certainly fits "Hope" better though. And goes kinda good in multiplayer.

Actually, combining both to end up with

> At the end of each turn, if you didn't cast a creature spell this turn, you may put a +1/+1 counter on target creature you control.

would make for a pretty nifty and playable card. In duels it's almost always +1/+1 per turn and often +2/+2; in multiplayer quite a bit more. Could be up at 3 mana-ish there (and possibly green rather than white, though either could be argued).

If you don't? Eeep.
