Can we make this card more green? Well, yes, it's not very green to start with! OK, I'm not sure if green gets provoke any more, but it's still green-ish and fits the original mechanic fairly well and the "annoyingly insult you" flavour amazingly well.
So, blocked-if-able, plus untap option. A bit niche, can be used as a one-off "creatures can't block", or, occasionally, as utility-creature-removal.
If it's dealt 3 or damage at once, then it's capable of becoming the target itself, and coming right back. Is that too close to a blanket immunity to all damage for the cost (Cho-Manno is a 2/2 for 4)?

How to shift this into blue? The defining feature seems to be "2 damage on turn 2". That's really not blue.
I could just do a different UU or HH card, but I liked the idea, and mulled it over until I thought of this. It's probably more useful as a creature that can cast snakeform (it may be too good), but you CAN use it to grow your turn-1 1/1...
In fact, it would be a better card if I threw away the symmetry and found a more interesting size for this.

It's the Godsend ability. Which I also used on Floating Fortress, come to think of it, though that one didn't bypass indestructibility.
Very sensible mash-up.

Wow, Aura Thief is unfortunately named! :) Obviously positive auras don't need a lot of hosing, but maybe there's room for a little. It also lets you rescue a larger creature from pacifism if you want to.

Nice idea. Needs to be much more powerful though. Compare Bump in the Night or Syphon Soul. Perhaps 4 life for 2 mana, similar to Flame Rift. That always hit you; this won't normally hit you but will occasionally miss an opponent or two.
